The Official TFK Father's Issues Thread. I don't know how they do it

Think thereā€™s 2 types of bases as thereā€™s only 2 type of seats in most places. Youā€™ll soon find out theyā€™re all selling the same stuff but pitching it all differently. Like buying a car, bear in mind half the stuff they tell you is shit.

Thanks Mac. Was an eye opener today. Who thought buying a pram and car seat would be do difficult. :frowning:

Thanks Runt, I had to show guts and determination but I got through it, was born and have spent my life being good in thanks for my good fortune.

If youā€™re gonna be in and out of the car a lot then get something light thatā€™s easy to fold. If youā€™re gonna spend most of the time walking with the child get something sturdy. Its not something to skimp on as the child will spend more time in it than you probably realise. Youā€™ll usually get a good deal if you play the main places off themselves too - Tony Kealys, Mamas & Papas and Bella Baby. Most places will show you how to fit all the car stuff too when you collect them.

I found the maxicosi/isofix base very good and easy to use/install. You can pick up an iso fix base very cheap on donedeal. The one thing I would say is, dont be afraid to test the wheels/pram/buggy etc when in the shop, pull the fuck out of it and figure out how it collapses and pops back up. Youā€™ll spend half your time doing that and lifting it in and out, make sure you get one that it works handy for, especially given thereā€™ll be times when your or the missus will be on your own doing it and you really want something that works easily without any hassle.

Did ginge and willie not give you the lowdown?

Congrats btw, and you can kiss goodbye to hours of teamkilling

@myboyblue, a guy who has had a kid has hacked into your account pal. Change your password, I suggest cheddar15

Incredibly amusing mate, are you sure your own wasnā€™t hacked?

WTF? MBB is a father!

Spot on.

Shur arenā€™t they 'asy stock to get into? Look at some of the lunatics on here who are. You shouldnt put so much faith in what you read on the interweb.

You surprised me anyway!!

Some awful stories here. Mrs Farmerā€™s brotherā€™s wife gave birth to a dead baby about 6 months back. She was told about 30 weeks in that the baby was dead. She was induced and gave birth. Horrific labour by all accounts. I went into the Rotunda the following day. I would have been in the same hospital for my sisterā€™s kids. Normally a happy place. Sitting in a room with a family of lady after having given birth to a dead baby. The inclination is to look over at the crib as you expect it to be crying. But itā€™s a corpse. Horrific - and that was just for me.

Then came the post mortem. I donā€™t know if they had to do it but they butchered the little lad. He was all bandaged up then. Then the burial in the plot of the Angels in Glasnevin. And you see so many more.

Pregnancy and giving birth to me seems like the most wonderful and horrible things that can be experienced depending on how it goes. It is literally a matter of life or death.

That plot of the Angels in Glasnevin is a heartbreaking place. Wandered into it one day after a funeral and it tear the soul out of you to read some of the inscriptions. You only think you have problems in this life until you hear some of the stories recounted here.

Minding the little one tonight and had my worst nappy experience yet. The shit had someone how escaped and gotten every where. Then I couldnā€™t find the baby wipes. It was disgusting while she just lay there laughing up at me. I dumped the nappy and clothes straight into the bin.

 Rescue the clothes you lazy cunts. Boil a kettle and steep the shit out of them.

No Iā€™ll leave them where they are and say nothing about it. :pint:

Do sure, take the heat tomorrow.

Or just teach the kid to shit in the field, maybe?

Welcome to the world of the atomic shite. Jaysus vivi used to do some awful ones, all the way up her back thank god those days are gone
