The Official TFK Local and European Elections Thread 2024

Da fuq did i do?

Made a late breakfast/early lunch out of the voting process. Strolled with my young lad up to the gritty Brook’s Cafe on the Artane/Killester/Coolock peace line for pancakes, availed of the ATM to get cash to pay the babysitter tomorrow for the eagerly awaited Two Johnnies concert in St Anne’s Park, doubled back to the girls’ schools to vote AodhĆ”n ORiordĆ”in number 1 #ForTheLoveOfDublin, relaxed while the kid played in the school playground with others, dropped him to afterschool then & had a little ramble locally while listening to a Celtic podcast. Back to the desk/couch then to follow up on some work tasks. I look forward to the official TFK exit poll tonight.

Edit: The school had left out sweets in the bathroom.

I voted earlier. Aodhan O Riordan did not get my first preference. I voted for Benny Ogle cos hes a good oul paranoid unionista. Aodhan got second. Cuffe 3.
I voted for the local labour lad cos hes a good skin and does a lot for Porto.

Did you do any canvassing with/for the local Labour lad?

I assume someone here is conducting an exit poll

I’ve voted 3 times so far and the third time I was coming back one of the ballot boys let out an audible ā€œnot this cunt againā€ to much laughter (including myself). I’d say I might be stopped in a round 4 scenario so I’ll get the aul lad to do a few laps of democracy.

I did. Leafletting and canvassing. I was away in Rome the week the posters went up.

The Ireland south European election is possibly the most uninspiring list of candidates I’ve ever seen on a ballot

I just gave Grace the number 1 and left it at that

Grace is a good kid. Proper activist. She was on the Rainbow Warrior when it wasn’t safe or fashionable.

You went to Italy, not the champagne region, ergo Prosecco you philistine.

Ah…

That was nicely timed. I’m not a fan of postering.

Any idea exit polls done for this or are they bothered for European?

The ballot paper for Ireland South is the largest I’ve ever seen and includes an even greater collection of fuckwits than my more manageable ballot paper for Cappamore/Kilmallock.
