Is your insurance not invalidated if you don’t have a valid NCT? Assuming you need to claim of course.
Those days of conny & aisy with NCT certs are long gone. No cert no insurance. No cert - vehicle impounded. Do you think the Gárdai do fuck all in this country? They’re out their daily looking for cheap kills like this while your house is being robbed.

Outside of all that though you could easily declare the car off the road for a period of time without worrying about insurance?
I don’t think you need to actually have an NCT cert to get insurance although I’m sure a claim would be fun without it. A bit like not actually needing a licence to drive, only “to be licenced”. Maybe they’ve closed these loopholes a bit recently. Need to renew my insurance, another thing on the list.
You’re correct in the main. You can get insurance over the phone (transferring) but your motor must have a valid NCT for the Gárdai and, God forbid, a claim.
Fairly clear-cut, the NCT is a must.
You have to declare it off the road in advance any more
NCT is due in September. Went on the Website there and it is telling me it now isn’t due until the end of January.
Has NCT validity been extended for a few months due to covid?
4 month extension if the test was due after the 28th of March.

The handbrake and right back wheel … apparently there’s a little lilt in the car when the handbrake is up , leaning to the left- it’s at 65% when it should be at 50% … whatever the fuck that all means.

The handbrake seems to be the go to easy fail for these cunts.

Simple, just cut the cable to it. They cant fail it then.
But surely if it’s leaning to the left your immense bulk sitting on the right hand side would balance it out?
