22 of them. Itās the absolute limit with the 6kw inverter anyway

Outstanding
Mine hit 42.7 today
634 for March
Should hopefully be joining the latest TFK fad within a month.
Is ā¬20k a fair quote for 17 panels, two batteries and an air to water?
My hands are tied really as a mate of mine does it and I canāt really go with anyone else. Looking around it seems about right?
Theyāve a bit of work to do on the retro fitting it. Missus is delighted sheās getting new floors and walls painted and all sorts. Going to cost me a fortune
Is that net of the SEAI grants?
Ya after grants, fair or am I being done?
Retrofitting aināt simple usually so probably a nice bit a labour involved. I donāt think itās an outrageous price to be honest in the current market. That said⦠all these fellas are making a serious margin for their troubles but you probably wonāt get anyone cheaper.
As long as Iām not being done, Iāll take that.
Between gas and electric Iād say we arenāt far off 4k a year. So if I can get that down to even 1k a year. Twill pay for itself in 6 or 7 years. And prices are unlikely to go down in the meantime.
Changed to Electric Ireland Smart plan today. Night rate is lower than the rate you get paid to export electricity so battery coming into its own. Iāll be charging the battery and car at night and exporting any excess during the day. Should have enough in battery after the afternoon to get through peak 5-7 time. It should lead to a good reduct. Will report back after a few months.
18 panels put up today, 7.92 KWp system, a bit of electrical work to do tomorrow before firing up all going well. Held off on a battery for the moment but included a hybrid inverter.
Tell me this you import the energy at night to charge the battery. Is that something you have to do or yourself on an app every day or is it automatic?
Most apps will let you set a schedule on when you want to charge the battery from the grid
Mate was telling me he is putting them in as well and the lad putting them in said when they reduced the grant the volume of calls and installs went through the roof!
The default on the system was to only take in power to battery when solar power wasnāt used elsewhere. I looked up you tube and copied some lad who showed how to set system to take in power from grid at nightime
Anyone have a decent āclippingā strategy?
Once the battery is charged (16kw) on days like today the DC electricity being produced gets clipped by the inverter as itās 5.5kw rated. So for about 3-4 hours every day Iām losing a few kwhs.
Another battery is one solution but probably makes no financial sense as itās only required on really sunny days.
Delaying the charging of the battery until later in the day is another option.
Throw on the washing machine and dryer
A new record today @KinvarasPassion - youāre probably mid 50s today are you?
Iāve the panels coming next week. Looking forward to being able to compete.
Only hit 48, I was a way but a few bits of cloud cover it seems
