Rory like most of the top golfers in the world didn’t compete in the Olympics because of concerns over the zika virus. Golf in the Olympics is a load of nonsense anyway. Golf is about the four majors, Ryder Cup and the World Cup of Golf. Everything else is inconsequential in comparison.

Brooks Koepka is winning this. Only a matter of time before he is world number 1. He came to grief yesterday in a pot bunker and took 3 or 4 out of there. His back nine was a sea of red and has already got back to level par for the tournament. He could go really low today.
Rain stopping so if the course dries out he’ll find it tougher.

The late starters will have their way with the course. Greens will be moist and receptive (thats what she said) and the fairways will run out more.

Zika virus was a flimsy excuse to avoid a situation for Rory. He isn’t Irish pal. As much as you wish it to be, he isn’t.

Why do golfing types want to force Irishness on a man that says he is British? it’s very, very strange behaviour.
Rory is from the Northern Ireland part of the island of Ireland. For golfing purposes, he’s Irish. There is no Northern Ireland in golf. Golf is a 32 county, all island sport.

When the news showed his score card earlier it showed NIR — Not IRL… that’s a clear distinction. Rory is a partitionist.
He represents the Northern Irish flag when he competes as an individual in events.
He doesn’t not represent the golf union of ireland as a professional golfer. He represents the PGA tour or the European tour.
He lives in the U.S.A, and doesn’t want to be classed as Irish. Stop trying to force it on him.
We cannot lay claim to McDowell, Clarke or Mcilroy’s majors.
