The Open

With Snedeker dropping shots & Woods on a charge there is real big chance that Williams(Scott) could be out with Woods in the final group tomorrow. DRAMA!!!

Superb updates throtghout the day Scrunchie. This thread is the only place to be tomorrow to see who takes the biggest individual prize in the game.

Strap yourself in. For the next 7 hours this thread will be giving you the definitive guide to the Open.

Thread favourites Larryduff, Anto and Sid Waddell will no doubt be joined by the voyeurs bandage, Chewy, HVB and The Runt, who are most welcome. We even welcome the anti-golf view from MBB.

Coverage starts on Aunty at 11.00.

This thread has spared no expense and we even have a reporter at Royal Lytham and early reports from there are that one CARLOS TEVEZ is caddying for Anders Romeo today!!!

Apparently Tevez was there yesterday too mingling with the fans follwoing Anders Romeo and later Tiger Woods. “Uglier in real life” is how our onsite reporter has described him

John Daly has completed his tournament finishing on +14. No doubt he was wearing trousers as loud and obnoxious as the opinions on the other thread.

The tee times for our leaders are as follows:
13:50 Bubba Watson (US), Thomas Aiken (SA)
14:00 Bill Haas (US), Thorbjorn Olesen (Den)
14:10 Ernie Els (SA), Zach Johnson (US)
14:20 Tiger Woods (US), Brandt Snedeker (US)
14:30 Graeme McDowell, Adam Scott (Aus)

I’ve been assured that its windy at Royal Lytham today. Can this help McDowell?

Certainly Woods may struggle if he has to use a Driver from the tee as he has been taking Irons all week so far.

And hopefully the wind will interfere with Scott’s elongated putter.

Haha very good.
I’ve gone for Olsen and Johnson today. Here’s hoping.

Great work Scrunchie, this is the thread to be on, in what should be a wonderful day of Golf. McIlroy will want to forget this Open in a hurry, another disastrous day so far. It is Scott’s to lose, but I wouldn’t write of McDowell or Tiger yet.

Steve Williams, who has been up all night practicing his Open acceptance speech, is extremely upset that Romero has got Tevez to Caddy for him. He is disappointed that he is not now the only Caddy that people know by name and upset that they are talking about another Caddy.

Scott wouldn’t be great in the wind. It should suit McDowell though.

The bookies showing serious respect for McDowell, clear 2nd favourite, even though Woods is only 1 behind. I think most people would have taught Woods would have been 2nd favourite.

christ this will set bando off.

Whats your point.

Colsaerts has finished his round with a 65.

The chasing pack can take something out of this as now they know a decent score is achievable. With the lead Scott has he will surely be looking to par his way to victory with the odd bird on the par 5’s. McDowell et al will have to be looking to shoot a mid 60 score to really challenge.

Matt Kuchar gets a birdie on the second to move to 3 under. He’ll need plenty of them if he is to make an impact.

That’s not how you want to start your round if you want to put Scott under pressure. Olesen with a poor tee shot bogeys the first and drops back to +3.

Hells Bells, Ernie Els leaves his birdie putt a rotation short on the 1st.
