Took a tumble playing badminton last night and landed heavily on my knee, fairly tender and a nice bit of bruising on it today
bandage will love this!
Ever been to Mauritius?
Fuck off.
What sort of footwear do you wear, The Puke? I’d have thought you want a nice light shoe like a pair of Tigers?
This is clearly a wum. Hurlers (real hurlers) play squash or go to a handball alley to keep the eye in, they do not play fucking badminton.
Tigers offer very little arch support. I’d imagine your feet would be in bits if you used them for excercising.
you haven’t a clue, kev…super game to keep your eye in during the off season…good workout too
There’s a trade off. You can fook up your feet and be nimble. Or support your arches with something clunky and be less light on your feet. I choose the latter. Not that I really do any exercise. Just making conversation really.
Harvery.
Technically Puke, with all due respect, you haven’t a clue. Badminton is an over head and reach sport. Squash is a strike sport has you rotating more like you would in hurling, and hurling in an alley is obvious enough.
Yes it would help with the eye but so would golf, but its an inferior tool for hurling.
No offense kev but i will go with the opinion of Davy Fitzgerald on this…
Against Sports Science and dozens of great hurlers before him, fair enough. Davy is a bluffer Puke, you should know that. You are one of the people with a great fear of him being Clare manager.
You don’t have to have much technical knowlegde to know this, its quite practical what i am saying. But again, you feel you know best, carry on.
Puke comes across as incredibly stubborn here.
I dunno why he bothers asking for advice cause he will just ignore the experts and go off and do it his own way regardless.
I shall…Don’t see what Davy being a bluffer as a manager and him finding badminton as an excellent sport to play in the off season to keep his eye in whilest he was one of the top keepers in the country have to do with each other
In fairness, Kev should be wise to his bullshit by now.
Kev, what are your views on circuit training?
why the aggro Clarkey? cunt
and dont mind them puke. i would think badminton is a good sport for the offseason. whatever about keeping your eye in, its a good reactionary sport and keeps you on your toes.
Thanks gman, you rock…
You are listening to a bluffer. Get it?
Maybe he never tried the hurling alley or squash. Maybe he would have been even better if he had. Got a few more of those All-Stars Clare people moan about Donal Og getting.
Fran - I think its fantastic. Even strength training in general bar maybe phase 1 &2 should all be based around circuits. The only problem i have with it is many GAA trainers do it for 4-6 weeks and don’t touch it again for the rest of the season, crazy stuff. Do they think the strength, power and flexibility that circuits (well done circuits) bring in January are going to last all year. What also tends to happen is the same circuits are repeated over and over, and there is little or no progression. Things are training in that regard.
Full body exercises in general suit field sports, and the combination and cross training effects you get from circuits are very hard to replicate in a gym.
Fran, i recently tried jogging the roads and find it excellent, both in terms of general fitness and working up a sweat…i would highly recommend it
Thanks for the advice, Puke. Are you sure this is your own opinion or just 2nd hand bluffer opinion?
