You should be drinking the high volumes of water prior to the run, not after.
but then i will have to stop numerous times in the run to take a piss
Those glass Snapple bottles or a Pepsi widemouth or the ones you need if you’ve got a large penis too
Not if it was planned correctly, but i’ll let you figure that yourself seeing as you are such an expert.
Week one of my ‘back to training’ done. I’ve 35 miles done on the roads this week over 6 nights. I’ve started from a relatively low fitness level. Went 5 and a half miles tonight on the roads with a good climb in there of around 550 feet. Took me around an hour to do it though.
From zero to 6 nights/week in one go is a recipe for injury as is running 5 miles at a time with no real training
You should take it a lot easier, rest and recovery are very important
Rule of thumb is not to increase distance/time by anymore than 10% in a week
An hour for 5 miles would suggest you aren’t fit at all and so you should take it a lot easier
Look at some of the “couch to 5k” programmes on the net- Higdon or McMillan should have a decent easy one to follow
There is no talking to some of these lads wby.
THe fact that they are asking though is hopeful
TRE is being fairly typical of most lads- out bursting a lungful, has had a mad week of it, is feeling good but will either get injured or lose interest if he continues as is
On balance for anyone looking to get fit by running I’d advise them to sign up for a race- a good way of guilting oneself into keeping going when Champions League/wind/rain/missus is offering alternatives!
Most of it was just brisk walking with just a bit of jogging to change the stride for a while.
I’d agree I’m probably going at this arseways and have no real plan set out, I have a goal of a local 10k at easter so hoping to hit that. I’ll check out a few websites there. Thanks for the advise WBY.
There is endless stuff out there for 10KM’s TRE, you’ll find something perfectly suited.
 I suppose next week will undo everything. I’ll call it a ‘rest week’!
Widemouth and large penis in the same sentence.
Ban this sick bastard.
fucking nipples are falling off me here…
Vaseline Puke, The only job for the chaffing!
There is a photo of me somewhere crossing the line at the Connamarathon a few years back and there are 2 gunshot wound type stains on my tshirt. It was like a scene from Carrie.
A cunt of a dose.
Apply heavily.
would you not be doing a session on a treadmill on the day off the road?
you’ll gradually loose all the benifits if you keep on taking random days off.
you cant beat a good threadmill session with nice flat shoes that allow you to clatter along relentlessly

what’s the problem?
you’ve come on here posting utter rubbish that you are pounding concrete 6 nights a week, why dont you totally crippple yourself altogether and use my treadmill advice .
kev,
ive a serious question regarding squats.
Currently im training for 400m running and am in the gym 2 nights a week ( 5 nights a week when on a rig) and and doing a lot of core and quad work as we do.
ive recently started getting into squats as the are great for building the quads but am having serious difficulty with technique.
im ~65kg in weight and tonight has 30kg on a 20kg bar and was doing reps 3x15 .
this was after doing burpees and leg presses,
i couldnt find a good position when doing the squat, the weight was fine but my balance was all off,
any advice here?
