I couldn’t imagine something like an Ironman ever appealing to me. I even find gym work on my own incredibly boring, I probably just don’t have the will power/mental strength for it.
It’s odd because I like doing most other things on my own, but when it comes to exercise/sport it’s team events all the way.
I just like training hard for something and getting it done. Sport is far different though its the team aspect that i enjoy. And the banter/piss taking etc.
kev,
re the foam roller, i did mean massage in lew of stretching, do you use one? find it any use…
I suppose there is probably a tremendous sense of achievement of having done something like a Marathon/triathalon, but then who do you share it with?
Ya, especially after a tough couple of days. I think you may have mentioned the IT band yourself, it is great for keeping that loose.
Myself. When i did triathlons i was single, but i would imagine if i did something now it would involve quite a bit of support from the woman. Who would then get something from it as well and would be able to share in it. But thats it really.
Better off with football where if you play well you get 20 other people to tell you you’re great
It’s amazing how much respect people will give you for running even a marathon. I got a standing ovation in work when I hobbled into the office the day after running my first. I don’t consider it that big an achievement myself but I suppose most people will never do anything more athletic in their adult lives than running for a bus. Although I know better, I think friends and family see the marathon runner/triathlete as some crazy maverick free-spirit with wind in the hair and a mad glint in the eye.

much like the raramuri see cabello blanco
Not all, as some people are genuinely content the way they are, but most people that may portray you as mad or whatever for this are usually jealous they can’t/don’t have the commitment to do it themselves.
Has anyone ever done a duathalon (sp)? How much training would a lad have to be doing for one of them?
Around about 2/3rds of the training required for a Triathlon
Cunt
But how would you alter the training to account for the 2 runs you do?
It would afford you the chance to do some more speed training than a triathlete may do. A spinning class could be added also for speed for cycling.
So what training would a triathlete want to be doing?
Triathlon Training. Running, swimming & cycling.
yep, although that’s not the same thing as the locker-room atmosphere Kev and Runt mentioned.
Not sure why anyone would need to share the experience with someone else though, why bother?
It’s an individual sport, naturally it means different things to different people.
In my case, walking backwards down stairs for a few days and generally eating all around me.
Hormone levels go through the roof too.
Christ, that’s the last thing Thrawneen needs
Ya, thats true actually, had forgotten that.
They say professional athletes are the horniest people out there, i presume it has alot to do with extra exercise, although i have to admit not knowing the scientific reasoning behind it.
Apparently during the Olympics coaches and trainers are full time keeping the athletes away from each other.
perhaps they have no life due to training…
