It certainly is, pal. I run the odd hilly route but I don’t find them great for fast times. It’s mainly because the downhill parts don’t offset the uphill slogs for me. I don’t like bounding downhill so naturally hold myself back a bit. Flatter routes are where I really push myself for my time gains.
I really opened my legs tonight. I emptyed the fucker over the last 1km
How do you ensure your fitness regime doesn’t suffer when you’re very busy in work, mate? I’m a dealmaker and I’ve been doing lots of deals lately. Would you ever get up at 4am for a workout?
Did a lovely session of hill sprints first thing this morning…30meters at about 70% gradient x 15.
last year I did mate, used to love at 4:30am session, I think a motivational meme is order here
I also have to work in a major 24 session starting tonight, I factored it in to my hectic schedule by doing half marathon distance Thursday night instead of my usual Saturday/Sunday morning long run, thats the kind of outside the box thinking you have to employ @Bandage
Handy 5k this morning in 21:15
That’s good running
Not bad my west coast dwelling pal… you’ve lads here, from the east coast, who have been running years and they can’t get near the 20 minute mark… You’ve been at it what, 4/5 weeks? you’ll be running sub 20 mins by June.
Quality
Bish bash bosh. PB. Tongue is hanging out after that. 40secs off previous best. I have completely overhauled my diet since Christmas and it has changed my life in was I never thought imaginable.
19.35 for a 5k today. having the dog on the leash dragging probably knocked 8min off my previous PB
FFS, there is no way I can have a goalkeeper running faster than me.
That’s a brilliant effort. Around country roads was it? How do you find the garmin watch and what model is it? Been meaning to buy one off amazon.
Yea. A country road. There is a 5k and and 8k ring around my place. I’ve a feeling that could be me maxed out . That’s a Garmin Forerunner 15. I find it very handy . The only issue I have is it doesn’t connect to mobile devices through Bluetooth. I have to plug it into the laptop to upload all my runs. But the lowest level Garmin watch that did that was a good bit more expensive.
Fuck it i’m going to have to head out now this evening after work and do a run. No way i can look at that sort of effort and take the evening off. I wouldn’t mind but i’m in a food coma here the last half hour after a big roast chicken dinner.
Would you run a 5k often @Rintintin? Are you going to do the 6 miler for the Limerick run?
I basically retired from football this year. Due to family commitments. So I have more time for a bit of running. I’m enjoying it. I run 2-3 times a week. Alternate between the 5k and 8k route around here. I’m not doing the great limerick run. I have never ran in an organised race . It just suits me to be able to take off for a while when the chance arises due to my work hours and having a herd of children around the place.
What changes have you made to the diet Pal?
Is it true you won a prize for this run?
