The Pretend Fitness Thread

Inspired by Rintinin i’m after ordering a Garmin Forerunner 15 off Amazon there for £82. It should arrive in 5-6 days. I can see my life changing in ways i never thought possible when this arrives.

Ah I was a demon for sweets and things . Cut them out completely . No fizzy drink, crisps , chocolate or sweets of any kind since the start of the year. Cut out near on all sauces. Cut down portion size upped veg and downed carbs in all my main meals.

That is fair discipline. What do you snack or graze on now?

Any type of fruit or mixed nuts and the odd bag of popcorn. No doubt I’ll fall off the wagon soon and be worse than ever.

You must be skin and bone.

Booze?

Im certainly not just skin and bone I was in desperate shape at Christmas after getting a minor op on my back .Re::Drink. Unfortunately won’t ever be able to give that stuff up. But I suppose if you’re married with kids in your 30s the opportunity to drink barrels of the stuff doesn’t come along as often anymore.

I got the f225 with the inbuilt heart rate monitor (not to sure how accurate this is, tbh) a few weeks ago. Definite game changer alright.

Did you lose weight?

He looks a good deal lighter in his recent Facebook pictures anyway.

Flat enough with only two drags for climbs. Still nowhere speed wise but it’s still early.

I feel your pain brother

After a month of no proper exercise due to possible tuberculosis and probable Lung Cancer, I managed to get out for a run today. It was slow, Unmercifully slow, but I ran my 4.5k. Felt shit doing it but good after as you do, and the sun was beating down. The Fingal Riviera was at its finest, sunnied and unscangered. I’m back.

Its great running weather at the moment. I went out the last three evenings straight, 5km each time. A nice sense of achievement. I’ll have a few pints tomorrow night though and won’t be back out for a run until Sunday at the earliest.

don’t over do it pal, too much running is bad too

I need the fresh air. I do it for that as much as anything else. I find it therapeutic, I won’t ever be able to take on the Kenyans I’d say but I’m ok with that. Sure it must be better than sitting on the couch in the evening.
