Lovely day but only had an hour spare for a spin. 12km with 310m climbed. Wreaked after it

That’s good cycling, mate.

Thanks for the encouraging words, pal

5.5k there in roughly 22 mins, a little disappointed… i downloaded that strava thing but it must ate the juice because my phone died half way through… the last k is all steep hill, it’s a pure bitch.

I cycled that hill hundreds of times as a young lad, no fuckin joke.

You think it’s all good but then you turn into Mount Oval Village and it’s even steeper … my calves are tight.

Good man. You’ll get faster soon . Don’t worry. Reach for the stars

I’d advise stretching them out with a foam roller, pal.

I will do later, pal… I’ve a full body foam rolling session pencilled for later tonight.

Have ye lads got a p.b. for the mile? Despite running for quite a few years now, I had never tried doing a mile at max speed so since I got a Garmin recently I decided today was the day to “empty the fucker” over this distance.

Drink a load of water mate…that’s dehydration.

Is that Astro league still going above there?[quote=“ChocolateMice, post:6338, topic:2481, full:true”]

I was top scorer in that astro league the first two years it ran, 01 and 02 I believe.

Nice touch the way you’d get the mention in the evening echo the following week. Used to have a report on the games

Surface was never the best though.

Used to play casually in CIT as well in the cages…good run around similar setup to Castletroy college here.

I fuckin smashed it.
21:34, and that was with a 5:42 first km due to having someone tag along with me for some of it. 3:52 on the last km. 4:18 min/km

Never timed myself. Its a killer of a distance to race.

I love the old 100m dash myself. Only met a handful of cunts who could take me over that distance.

Took advantage of the nice weather this morning and traversed between my current hub of lovely Limerick city and my native land of majestic North Tipperary to get in a solid training morning.
Started off on bike - 23.8km, 295m, 59:34 (against wind)
Then a nice run through hilly forestry road straight off the bike - 12.8km, 288m, 1hr9
And then a lovely downhill spin in the sunshine back to Limerick - 24.9km, 80m, 49.36

61.5km logged in just under 3 hours. Doing a Sportif in Shannon tomorrow and I’m happy to report I’ll be supping cold beers in the afternoon.

It’s a lung bursting bastard of a distance alright. Bored with the longer distances at the moment so I think I’ll focus on this over the summer.

if you just open up your legs and let the fucker go

Sick
