I gget away with it because of my Med/North African looks.
CM is just jealous. If its good enough for Paulo Maldini its good enough for me.

Henrik Larsson too mate
And Becks.
First jog in 6 months this morn… 5k in 24.36… Was tough. Had done squats and deads yesterday also so legs were a little wobbly starting… I nailed Clarke’s hill to finish. Gonna try get one nice and slow jog in a week now.
I haven’t been jogging in close to 18 months now I’d say. That part of my life is over I think.
Have been tipping away the last few weeks, building it up. Ran well the last day on Friday up in Dublin while up on business so didn’t think anything of it heading out this evening. Up past Garryduff and then back down by the golf club, no bother. Past the RPH and boom my calf goes. Walked for a bit and tried a light jog but it’s not great. Stiff as be damned now. Sore going back up Clarkes Hill and I could only walk it.
That’s a great 7km training route btw Mouse, bit of everything.
Eazed back into it this evening. Took it handy for 5kms. 5:18 km pace at my leisure. No twinges from the calf.

Very satisfactory at the moment. Have dropped a few kilos since christmas and feel pretty good. I’ve done yoga everyday this week and had a decent swim monday and a good run last night. Didn’t do anything tonight as I was busy gambling but I may get a good run in tomorrow morning which would be nice. Have also given myself a good target for the core excercises I’ve started of late(to be actually able to do them without stopping).
8K jog last night took me 50 mins… . I haven’t gone passed 5k in nearly two years and my only jog in the last 6 months was 5k two weeks ago… happy enough with that.

That’s a grand jogging pace to ease back into it. Good low HR training.
I did a sub-24 min 5km jog yesterday for the first time in months after easing off things with the low zone training. I was in a bit of a rush to get to the garage fixing my car window so I didn’t bother with the HRM. A lovely steady pace, with all my kms between 4.46 and 4.56.
Ran my first 10k at the weekend, Milford Hospice 10k. Ran very comfortably through it. Didn’t know my pacing too well so cruised around without ever over exerting myself. Really enjoyable run relatively flat course around UL the surrounding roads and a big crowd doing it . I’m debating doing the Adare 10k at the end of February which will be a lot tougher I hear. Happy to have the first one done and I’ll look at increasing my pace for the next one. Completed the course in 42:47 was hoping for any time under 44 so happy out with the way it went.
That’s a fair good time @Rintintin. I’m more a jogger myself so anything under 46 minutes would have me in bags of sweat. I think I’m doing that Adare run with some pals as part of our plans to do a longer fun run in Limerick at the end of April.
My plan was to do a half in Limerick the end of April but unfortunately I won’t be available to do that weekend now. Still my target to do one before the end of summer. Do you run any of the park runs?
I haven’t bothered with the park runs. Doing the full limerick jog this year for the laugh
5km jog this morning. Shite pace but happy to get out. 125km cycle on Saturday and I was fucked during it. First coffee/scone break after 70km in Lismore. Got going again (in a group of three), okay to Tallow but bonked on the road to Rathcormock. More coffee and a tayto sandwich saw me back but I was in bits on the road. It’ll stand to me though.
Happened to my pal recently doing a half marathon. His first. Rare enough would hear of it running…legs give up a lot quicker I suppose than they do on the bike and you wouldn’t get into as much bother
He spent 4 nights in hospital on the back of it. They thought hed had a banger. Eventually by process of elimination just reckoned he’d bonked hadn’t eaten enough blood sugars just crashed. Scary shit.

I’m not sure I understand. The doctors thought he’d eaten a sausage but it turned out he’d had full sex?
You’d want your head examined doing those kms in January.
