My longest spin in January was 75km. That’s plenty this time of year

Oh I agree chief. The two lads I was with are training for the Tour de Flanders and then watch the Flèche the day after.
Fuck it, it’s done now

In a desperate attempt to reverse four months of laziness, overeating and over drinking and to prevent puking when preseason starts in a couple of weeks, I went spinning last night.
Wasn’t as bad as I thought to be honest, definitely no preparation for running in the mud, but I’ll give it a few more lashes between now and then. My legs don’t hurt for some reason? I thought they’d be falling off me, but the cycling is obviously low enough impact. The sweat was pouring off me alright.

You were only codding yourself I’d say.
Pedalling away reading the pink sheets.

I was putting out serious wattage. I could have powered a housing estate

Made my first venture into the mud today. Bahh . Nothing prepares u for it. My legs felt like I’ve lead boots on. Also a gale blowing didn’t help.

I was running in Dublin 4 early this morning and bumped into Robin (ex-Fair City) walking her dog in Ringsend Park.

30 minute barrier broken guys.

5km this morning in 29m 43s. The first 4kms were at 10km/hr pace with the last km at 10.5km/hr.

I reckon I could take @Bandage in a 5km handicap. @Rocko, can you arrange this ?

I’ve already begun thinking of my backroom team

Congratulations DB, I think changing to an anti clockwise circuit was a big factor, you didn’t pass the chippers and Chinese takeaway till the home straight on this route meaning you kept the blinkers on till the finish .
Let’s experiment with a tongue tie next week and see if we can’t go sub 29.

Great stuff big man

You’d want to do bit yourself, tubs.

I do a minimum 3 hours everyday mate

Your diet must be poor so, kid… You’ve a few lbs to cut

Is this outdoors running, treadmill running or outdoors on a treadmill running, mate?

Very well done by the way.

sigh

This is treadmill running mate.

Thank you for your kind words

Great stuff. Running outside will knock another couple of minutes off your time.

If you really wanna drop a few lbs get on the weights, mate - you’ll burn ten times more… If youre happy with cardio for now throw in the odd interval session which again is for more beneficial for general fitness and burning cals etc.

Crossfit update (before anyone is worried about my health and well being).

Everything going wonderfully. After six months I’ve progressed a good bit with the technical lifts, never more that my current flexibility will allow.

Have added a run into my regime every week now as well and might cut back on of my three weekly classes when it gets brighter to do a bit more cycling. Thinking about doign a 5km run for chairty, I do love charitym, the weekend after next.

No injuries experienced. I’d say I haven’t been this fit since my early 20s.

I’d still box the head off you or outrun you if I couldn’t burst you.
