What do you use for timekeeping? I presume a normal stopwatch? I was using an app on the phone called Runkeeper. Not sure how good it’s accuracy is though. It works off GPS.

i have a garmin 405.

Did 37km on the bike this evening through our nations capital. The one positive thing about the Queens visit was that there wasn’t a car to be seen. Average pace of around 2:35 min/km

Hey Fenway, started a bit of out and out running this weekend.

I did a bit of tempo running today. It was in a large park and i reakon the course was between 900 & 1200 M long, but not 100%. Anyway i did 4 runs and they went from 3 Min 48 to
4 Min 12 to
4 Min 02 to
3 Min 50.

I know its not exact, but how does that weigh up in your opinion. Not going to kill myself or over extend, going to build really slow as i had been doing alot of shorter power running and sprinting.

I wouldn’t recommend killing yourself either but you should stop now before you hurt yourself.

tempo running is good for increasing speed and ability to sustain that pace. How much of a recovery did you do between those laps? Going to start doing a lot more intervel training myself. Those times look good.

Walked about a 50 Metre doing some dynamics etc, about 1 minute, but didn’t time it.

used to do these at training last year but shorter distances about 500 meters and you’d do 12 in a row with a 45 second break. they are incredible for stamina building.
