It’s about 90 euro return to fly — It’s 55 - 65 euro on the train from Killarney
it’s 45 euro to fly one way - 25- 35 to get the train.
The flight will take about 2 hrs all in including time at airport + flight
The train takes 3hrs - 3.30.

What about the time it takes to get to the airport depending on where you are in Dublin, and the cost?
The same can be said for the train station, mate.
True.
Cheers statto
Fares have come way down with IÉ, if you book online anyways. The likes of @Sfurkles there are getting royally mugged off if they are still paying 60 quid.
The actual service outside of the main 3 or 4 lines though leaves a lot to be desired.
Any care to tell me why the fuck there’s a train station in Thomastown?
I’ll take this one.
The railroad goes through it, being a larger settlement on the rail line it seemed apt to place a station there.
Swung on and there it goes! That ball is high! It is far! It is…GONE!
Stick to car counting on the N11 Mac
Interesting that all the responses have been from dullards who aren’t from KK or Waterford. If any of you saw the station in Thomastown you’d understand.
For Irish rail it’s an achievement even being open.
Good question @Mac. As a young child I remember the train used to stop in Mullinavat on its way to Dublin.
You’re not a young child.
It’s a noble station.
Thomastown has a population of over 2000.
It’s the only stop between Kilkenny and Waterford.
And most importantly, I’m from there!
Note!
It’s an unmanned station,
The ticket machine is rarely working, so you can get on for free.
The train station is a loss to Vegas.
Stag and hen parties I suppose.
But surely they can’t take unopened alcohol off people boarding a train.
Ban consumption alright, but surely not confiscate.
An alcohol ban is to come into effect on four Iarnród Éireann services from Dublin from next Friday, 12 October.
Fucking Dubs
