The Rugby Thread (Part 2)

One hardly Excuses the other

Great game between the Waratahs and the Drua. 18 year old Max Jorgenson is a superstar in the making for the Tahs.

Drua are great and a brilliant addition- the muppets down there should have brought in a team there years ago.

Good game alright although the result seemed inevitable from a long way out. Jorgensen looks like a star in the making in fairness.
Ben Oā€™Keeffe is a very unfussy referee.

There was a time when rugby was rammed down your throat at every turn.

Now itā€™s more or less transcended into an irrelevance. Big choices to make for the golf dads and housewives of humble origins on whether to stick or twist with the smugby bandwagon in the face of growing apathy.

They are also due to get Joseph Suailli back in 2025 (though rumours it could be 2024) from the NRL. That kid is potentially better.

A no brainer really. I was in NZ during the era of the Sunwolves and the Jaguares and that whole non-ANZ group was an irrelevance really that always seemed to be played out in front of empty stadiums.

He probably shouldnā€™t have retired so

An afterthought obviously

@Thomas_Brady vindicated

Iā€™m sure he only plans to go to their RWC training camp and have one last dance at RWCā€¦heā€™s been training up to last week. Donā€™t know much about the Spanish but heā€™d surely be an addition to them

Jordi is allegedly right up there with Larmour as the thickest Irish rubby player ever

Iā€™d say Sean o Brien would be high on that list

Iā€™m beginning to think Ireland are in massive trouble. You can see it going wrong already. Sexton too old Crowley too inexperienced and Byrne not good enough.

Healy, Murray, earls, and sexton are all well past it too like.

Itā€™s such a bad decision to leave a fella in red hot form like hodnett behind too.

Absolutely ranks. Dunno would he top Peter Claw in my top 5 though.

This worries me youā€™re rarely wrong kid

Rog shadowing the thing as well.

Your Eoin tooland made the point Ireland benefit from the cohesiveness of having so many Leinster player playing against sides who have players picked from all over the place. La Rochelle are obviously together all the time so Leinster donā€™t have that edge.

That edge is also ruled out coming into a World Cup because all teams come together.

Oā€™Mahony being second choice openside instead of Hodnett and Conor Oliver is pure gas. One of those situations you can tell from months away will fuck Ireland like Best last time.

O Mahoney is having an amazing spell but no way should hodnett not be given a chance in that Squad. Itā€™s the like squad was picked two months ago.
