The Rugby Thread (Part 2)

It was Leinster fanboy David nuicifora who kept van graan in a job and tried to offer him another new extension while all the young talent in Munster stagnated.

Lads not understanding how important bonus points are at the end of the season is gas. He either had a gimme shot at goal after he tried getting Van der Merve into play for a try with zero possible consequences or take a drop goal that meant they only took 4/5 points against a weak Connacht side.

Yeā€™re gas lads.

Is this the same Nucifora and co. who oversaw masses of Leinster talent going south, from underage to adult level over the last decade?

The ones who gave Munster extra money when they didnā€™t have a pot to piss in?

Things like JJ were arguably worse given the age and potential upside he had when he left. Sexton left Leinster when the IRFU wouldnā€™t increase his salary to what the likes of Oā€™Driscoll was getting when over the hill plodders like Oā€™Callaghan were still drawing central contracts.

Healy had another option and good luck to him for taking it.

Who are the masses of Leinster talent going south out of curiosity? Carbery and who? Sure as many or more have gone from Munster to Leinster over the years.

At the time he made his mind up he was a clear third at Munster and he acted based on that. Good luck to him.

So, Tom Curry told lodgy that during a break in play, that south African hooker looked him straight in the eye, and called him ā€œwhite cuntā€ twice. You can make your own mind up whether itā€™s racist (Iā€™m not sure it is) but it most definitely happened, and was swept under the carpet. Heā€™s had death threats since, as has his girlfriend. Another player said he didnā€™t much enjoy the world cup. It went on for a long time, and they were generally stuck in mediocre hotels picked by Eddie Jones, on the edge of towns and quite a way out for security reasons, and there was nothing to do. The chef quit halfway though.

Ok i donā€™t recognise most those names. Lads like beirne and Copeland and were hardly Leinster products, they developed elsewhere before coming to Munster. Youā€™re massively overstating your case here.

Yes they fucking were

Beirne is absolutely a Leinster product.

He came through the system and played senior rugby.

And yes he was cut.

But when he was coming back, both Schmidt/Nucifora directed him down south.

You donā€™t recognise a lot of those names because theyā€™re academy players- again redirected by the IRFU down south.

There is no equivalent of an Andrew Conway of the last decade. Leinster produced and he was in top notch form before Munster took him.

Iā€™m not complaining either- this is a function of size. But itā€™s BS to be moaning about Nucifora and Leinster!

Lotta lads ignoring a lovely bit of sense here

Ye cowards

Iā€™m not really sure what argument youā€™re having about Nucifora and leinster and leinster players going to Munster. Of the list of players you set out that have apparently gone from Leinster to Munster barely a few have been first team players. Sure plenty of players have gone in the other direction down the years. Whatā€™s your point here?

He did give you a good list of players there in fairness and Iā€™d say at least 10 were good enough to/have changed Munsterā€™s fortunes. Nucifora has made some poor calls but the IRFU have certainly tried to spread the Leinster academy wealth. Jordi Murphy and Jack McGrath are great examples of that. Then you have the likes of Tom Daly and Conor Oliver coming to Connacht.

He sent you home with your tae in a mug, your knowledge is wafer thin and is apparent anytime someone digs any way below the surface with you

Do you think they go there by accident?

Whereā€™s the Munster lads in Dublin?

Right here for one and struggling to sleep

I reckon they go where they get a good offer or an opportunity. Iā€™d say Carbery is the only one that was prevailed upon to move. Was Conway a first choice Leinster player when he moved? Donā€™t think so. You seem to be claiming that players are being plucked from Leinster and deposited in munster. In reality the only the only player thatā€™s ever moved that direction that was a first choice player was Carbery, and that was at Schmidtā€™s behest. The rest were all surplus to requirements or developed elsewhere before moving to Munster. Sure the likes of Oā€™Brienā€™s and reddan and Ross went the other way and were mainstays at Leinster, and why not. Iā€™m still not really sure what point youā€™re trying to make in all of this.

There were at best four decent players in that list. Murphy and McGrath sank like stones at Ulster, theyā€™re not good examples of anything. I donā€™t think thereā€™s any example other than Carbery of the irfu trying to ā€œspread wealthā€, itā€™s just driven by players going where they can get contracts or gametime. In fact, the irfu did the opposite of spreading the wealth by bringing henshaw to Leinster.
