with all due respect BIAT, youre only seeing one aspect of a multifaceted issue. the CFA alone is not the nly issue. there’s the legislation which means the matter comes back to court every 28 days which means that social workers are gving evidence or writing reports when they should be in the field working with families. then there’s the money thats pissed up against the wall in legal fees and the money spent on guardians ad litems and their legal teams (another rant for another day). it represents about 4% of the entire budget, money that could be better spent on S&L, art therapy, family interventions etc
the care orders should be at least 6 months as it would allow a working relationship to occur between the social workers and the families that they are working with. earlier interventions are essential as they will also lead to less court action and better outcomes for families.
If youre good enough go out and get it and no more about it.
If your mother sends you to the shop with 50p to get a pounds worth of goods you cant get the pounds worth of goods can you?
