The locals, the GAA, the tidy towns, the community council and the Provisional IRA, all get a share of the blame.
Mr Lynch, who failed to retain his seat in City West, accused Patrickswell people of giving him âthe two fingersâ.
âThey didnât come out and support me. They got a huge amount of things. It means nothing to them. This has been a huge, huge disappointment,â he said. âWe have done so much for the villages of Patrickswell and Clarina, and they have given us the two fingers: they didnât want someone who was decent, a hard worker.â
Mr Lynch, whose son is All-Star hurler and Patrickswell captain Cian Lynch, then lashed out at the GAA.
âBut the GAA failed us. Tidy Villages who I gave everything for, did not support me. The community council whom I got âŹ50,000 for did not give me one vote,â he claimed. And the former detective garda contended that there was still anti-garda sentiment in the village.
âPatrickswell has history. There is an element there. You must remember what happened to Jerry McCabe. Thatâs not gone away. There is a big anti-garda audience out there,â he said.
Only managed 700 votes in total, shocking for a sitting councillor. Youâd imagine a picture of himself and Lynchie on a flyer would have gotten him that on itâs own. On the FF ticket as well. Our friend from the stables mugged him right off.
The only conclusion you could reach is that heâs a bit of a cunt, and that article wouldnât persuade you otherwise.
Two got in from Patrickswell out of the seven elected. Some going for a relatively small area within a large district. I dont think that either of the two elected have a GAA affiliation.
What a wanker. Our own household e-mailed him about getting the storm drains outside our front wall cleared as they were blocked and the road was flooding after any heavy rain, auld baldy said he would do it and nothing, e-mailed Fergus Kilcoyne and it was done the very next day and he got both my parents vote.
Also amazing Patrickswell with itâs Republican background voted him in previously no problem, digging up something from 23 years ago to throw back is pathetic. Easy knowing where he is from.
I was surprised that he got such a low vote. Met him a few times and seemed an alright sort but Iâm revising that judgement in the wake of this outburst. This is not like the graciousness demonstrated down in the election in some West Cork enclave that @Bandage highlighted earlier this week
It would have been more in his line to roll up his sleeves and show the people of Patrickâs Well that he has heard their message and will work harder for them going forward. He burned every single bridge there - Just as well Cian is the best hurler in the world or there could have been friction with the club.
Kilcoyne runs The Dark Horse, I think that qualifies enough as a GAA link. The fat lad that plays for Munster and was linked to some of those inappropriate messages sent on Instagram/Tinder recently, Dave Kilcoyne, is his nephew though.

Can safely say that outburst has ended any chance of Sean Lynch running again in five years time. He mustnât have been a great councillor if he polled so poorly on the back of having a decent enough local base to start off with.
