The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters šŸ

Iā€™d say he is after being withdrawn, just had a look at the card on a couple of different sites and no sign of himā€¦

Your some gimp dunph, he is running in Ballybrit at 4pmā€¦currently 2/7 on betfair

running in galway. rothwell landed a nice touch today, not the first time that has happened.

Yeah just checked it there. It is indeed Galway where heā€™s running.

Dunguib is 1/7 to win.
Apparently connections have turned down a million quid for the horse. Heā€™ll need to win a heap of races to recoup that.

Iā€™d be selling. A million for a horse that has yet to jump a hurdle.

Dunguib wins with easeā€¦Aranleigh also had a nice win in wexford on his seasonal return

Heā€™s some horse though and a joy to watch. Somebody close to connections told me a few months ago that JP offered alot of money to buy the horse straight after his Cheltenham success.

Itā€™s hard to know what to do when offered 1m for him. I suppose if it were me iā€™d accept it as going over hurdles and jumps he could easily break his leg and thatā€™s it. But you can see how theyā€™d turn down the offer.

I doubt they expect him to recoup a million but the pleasure of seeing him hopefully win a few more big races will probably amply compensate any crass monetary gain.

I suppose they could make a ball from stud fees some day if he goes on to fulfill his phenomenal potential. Iā€™m very excited by this horse. I can see him going on to great things.

I wouldnā€™t know too much about stud fees but i think that NH stud fees pale in comparision compared to the Flatā€¦

I wouldnā€™t know myself but if thatā€™s true then they really should have taken that 1m.

Lads itā€™ll be a miracle of modern science if they can engineer a stud career for a horse who had his crown jewels lopped off a few years ago.

Not sure if any of you are interested in the Melbourne Cup ( a very overrated race if you ask me), but thereā€™s a great story unfolding here at the moment after Saturdayā€™s Cox Plate. 82 year old trainer and legend Bart Cummings trained the winner, 3 year old So You Think, after also winning the Caulfield Cup a couple of weeks ago with Viewed (2007 Melbourne Cup winner).
Bartā€™s on fire at the moment, and will probably have 6 runners in the Melbourne Cup, which races next Tuesday at Flemington. Average enough field by the looks of it this year, Viewed could be a real possibility, but Iā€™m backing Efficient at the moment.

Easy for Operation Houdini:clap:

I see Pandorama is going over fences for the first time tomorrow, think it was Mac that was following him closely last yearā€¦he had a fine year last year, his only defeat coming against mikael dā€™hagunetā€¦

dunguib a 5/2 chance for the sumpreme novicesā€¦

No value in backing him ante-post at that price. Was an impressive enough victory yesterday. There was no sound on tele I was watching it on, were they raving about him afterwards?

Waste of time backing a horse in october for mid march at 5-2ā€¦anything could happen between now and thenā€¦wouldnā€™t be a big ante post better anyway

I would be of a similar vein. Unless I get word for some ā€œmachineā€ being kept under the radar

The best success ā€œIā€ had was when I told the auld fella in Decemeber that connections were fancying Hairy Molly for the champion bumper. He went off and put a tenner on him on betfair at 239 (238/1). Of course i didnā€™t do anything about it myself and Hairy Molly duely romped home in March. I was sick as a dog.
