The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters šŸ

I love horses

Good lad.

Anyone shed any light on why the legend Matt Chapman has been kicked off ATR?

no he isnā€™tā€¦one gold cup, a hennessy and a sun alliance compared to two king georgeā€™s, a tingle creek, a gold cup, 2 betfair chasesā€¦granted denman ran a cracker in the gold cup last year and is a fine horse over 3 mile 2 but all in all i think kauto is the better horse(ran poorly enough in the gold cup last year)ā€¦couldnā€™t see denman winning a tingle creek against the likes of voy pos ustedesā€¦

Will they both be running in the gold cup in 2009 puke? Who do you think will win if they do?

hard to knowā€¦rumour has it denman could be gone for the seasonā€¦Very hard to callā€¦the ground suited denman last year and he ran a cracker and would be hard to beat if he ran the same againā€¦but kauto is a smashing horse and just has a superb engine and I think ruby and nicholls will want the horse to win a second(and probably a third gold cup) so it will be remembered as one of the greatsā€¦

2006 winner War of Attrition has also looked very impressive since its comebackā€¦presume it is the gold cup they would look atā€¦has the makings of a cracker this yearā€¦

Kauto star is 2/5 tomorrow steep enough although expectedā€¦the 1.55 in ascot looks a cracker tomorrow with crack away jack, franchoek and chomba womba going in itā€¦star de mohaison is going in haydock tomorrow looked a smashing horse when it won the sun alliance a few years ago and hopefully it can get back somewhere nears its best againā€¦

Binocular and Kauto looked nailed on certs tomorrow but little or no valueā€¦

Pandorama out again in the 1.00 in Navan on Sunday. Only a 6 horse race so will be odds on.

On the word of Hangblaa earlier on this thread Iā€™ll also be keeping an eye on Oligarch Society in the 1.10 in Gowran tomorrow. Won a bumper there back in October and tomorrow is her maiden hurdle.

I see the filly sired by George Washington went for 280k at goffs today to Gildawn studā€¦Serious bit of wedge for it hopefully she pops out a few and adds to the lineage/bloodline

We say the same about our star camogie players in Limerick Puke. Breed well and breed often.

now your ground hurling SS**

so SS & Mac - whats your nap of the weekend?

Crack Away Jack will shit in, NCC.

Pandorama Iā€™d say again. no value though. Iā€™m only looking for a Cheltenham race for him though.

Pandorama just won by a distance on the bridle. Serious machine of a horse. Ladbrokes go 7/1 on him for the Ballymore in Cheltenham. Heā€™s 5ā€™s elsewhere!

Oligarch Society also won yesterday but I didnt see the race.

Sam Thomas should be shotā€¦that is allā€¦

Nice exhibition from Black Apalachi at Aintree today. I think Dessie Hughes is terrific handler, one of the most underrated out there.

Would agree with that. Iā€™d say the National will be the aim now. Very impressive.

Great news, the sooner he is back the better after that cunt Thomasā€™s abomination of a ride Saturday

From rte.ie

Ted Walsh reports his son Ruby to be on the road to recovery following an operation to remove his spleen.

The rider was kicked in the stomach following his tumble from Pride Of Dulcote in the Cleanevent Handicap Hurdle on November 15, undergoing surgery later that evening to solve the problem.

ā€˜He went for the newspapers yesterday, watched the racing and walked round afterwards. Heā€™s in good form,ā€™ the Naas trainer told BBC Sport.

'The surgeon who operated on Ruby said it was nothing to worry about. Iā€™ve had about a dozen phone calls since from people whoā€™ve had their spleens removed to say they didnā€™t even know they had it or lost it, so hopefully everything is good.

'The surgeon said after a couple of weeks when Ruby starts doing sit ups heā€™ll actually know himself.

'Iā€™m sure heā€™ll know himself. I couldnā€™t say when heā€™s right - whether thatā€™s three weeks, a month, six weeks or two months.

'He wonā€™t be back until heā€™s right anyway.

Noel Meades novices often do. Yet when they come to Cheltenham generally as some kind of hot favourite in one of the Novice races they bomb badly.

Would be interested to hear from the horsey boys here on the views on Meade as a trainer. His Cheltenham festival record is pretty abysmal for a trainer with the resources he has.
