The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters 🐐

Has he hired Frank Berry or something?

FFS. what does he do for twine?

The owner was interviewed after the race in Cork and indicated that was the type of money they would be looking for.
They sent him to the sales last month with a reserve of 200k. He said they got an offer of 180k and refused it, and that his price now a fair bit more than that.

I thought he was “only” the owner of a solictors or accountancy practice? Not something you’d imagine would yield mega money.

Actually I see he’s a stock broker. Could easily have hit it big I suppose

He must have made a fortune out of something the money he’s pumping into the horses. Plenty wealthy fellas around but not many would cough up 400k! Know anything about he trainer, malso down as owner and breeder. Some balls to turn down 190 originally!

He made a fortune in the city. Was worth close to 500 or 600 million at 1 point. Has bought a fair few ginnets now. He could do with picking some proper trainers. Elliott, Tony Mullins, Shark - all great lads to spin you a yarn but wouldn’t train lassie to bark.

Didnt he own shinrock paddy (Nolan) and Pineua De Re (Fenton) ?

He still does, both could be added to the previous post.

Mags Mullins is the only trainer who seems to be pulling in winners for him.

He rode a nice few winners in fairness to him. Just asking the old lad about him there, he reckons he remembers him riding a bumper winner at Che? Hardly at the festival?

Il forever be indebted to one of his Pedrobob that got me out of a very tight corner last day of festival before.

pineau de re won last week

He rode previously mentioned shinrock paddy to win a NHF at the oct meeting

I was trying to think of his name earlier and it escaped me. I reckon he’s had more good horses than bad ones?

Ah ha. The father delighted with himself here. That’s a nice one for the CV

He’s had a nice few good ones anyways. Now he’s living he dream, not some mongs living in Western fucking Australia!!!

He’d win a lot more often if he had a proper trainer.

That race is well worth looking up. Funny out. Barry gives an exibition on how not to ride but still wins easily. One of the best horses to enter Nolans yard and its done nothing.

I believe Barry was a regular down in Tony Mullins stable riding out his own horse before he retired!

Someone paid close to half a mill for a horse with no balls that won an amateur flat race?
Fuxake.

Research tells me he also rode The Posh Paddy to win NHF at nov meeting 5 years previously.

Saw this lad run twice in flesh. Looked a very good horse, would definitely have won the Listowel race with a better jockey, must have got hurt afterwards:

Some rough research on ATR would indicate his total prize money winnings are less than 500k.
