The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters 🐐

Mac , any picks for tomorrow yet?
I’ve a few meandering thoughts which I’ll share here. Not sure how much use they’ll be

3.40 - won’t be touching this race but I’d probably go with Mount Sion if I had to choose one given owner, jockey trainer combo. Expect some of these to run later in the week too. Some yoke I’ve never heard of will probably win though.

4.20 - I want to take on the front 2 in this. I think Jezki needs to come off a slow pace, which won’t happen. Champagne Fever stole the Supreme Novices due to Ruby going off like the clappers. He may not get the same freedom tomorrow. I’ll probably side with Rule the World. VC are refunding bets if you’re second to a Willie Mullins horse so taking half a point shorter with them mightn’t be the worst idea.

4.55 - I keep coming back to Il Fenomeno. Need to sleep on this one.

5.30 - Won’t be betting, hopefully just enjoying it.

6.05 - Moyle Park was seriously impressive at Xmas and Riccis paid something like 250k for him on the back of that. He’ll probably win and Elliotts should run him close but the 2nd Gigginstown horse has me intrigued. Decent points record, some small trainer & jockey. The Runt, how much did they pay for this lad do you know?

6.40 - Can see Fenners point on Mount Benbulben but his jumping is so bad that its hard to have confidence in him. Most likely will back Harry Topper or Dedigout.

7.15 - Going to go back over this in the morning. Waiting on some word on Nolans horse. His stable is slowly coming around.

Metaurus?
If he’s with Doyle they probably bought him before a run. He seems to get a fair share of Gigginstown horses to rear and bring through the p2p’s.

watch for tasitiocht in the 4.55, carries 10 stone and will be the main Mullins horse in the race (Tennis Cap had his day out)

Christy Roche would worry you in this race. It is unusual to have just one South Liberties horse in a reasonable handicap.

I’m going to go to Punchestown.
Ditto. To say a final farewell to SE as much to see SS(although I don’t doubt for a minute that this time tomorrow he’ll prob be down as the best I’ve ever seen.
The ones I like are Jetzki(Geraghty to make the difference and Dedigout(optimum conditions today)

Entries confirmed for tomorrow, it really is a fine field for the Gold cup.

Gigginstown run 3 - First Lieutenant, Sir Dc & Quito. And then add Long Run, Captain Chris, Riverside Theatre & Kauto Stone for a serious set of raiders. Chicago Grey makes up 8 for 3 places.

Lazarus any picks for today?

Windsor Park in the last

Good call on Jezki

Well done Mac:clap:

:pint:

You beauty Mac!

Mac & FP yet again.

Fucking raging I missed Il Fenemono, what happened to rule the world? Pulled up very early.

Great call on Jezki FP. Was he impressive?

That’s some show from Sizing Europe.

Did not see Jezki race Mac, but sounded impressive. That was a hell of a run from Sizing Europe, one of the all time greats.

First four home in that bumper look well above average. BT, hope I did not put you off backing the winner.

Was it Jane Mangan on the runner up? Thought it got a poor ride.

Had him backed already Fp. He is a fair yoke based on his 2 wins. Harry or MB in the next lads?

It was Mac. To be fair, I get the impression that the winner is the type to always find more when challenged.
