The Sport of Kings & Equine Matters šŸ

I dont think he did Mac. I know it was mooted, but I think the lovely Rebecca Curtis denied it.

Hoping Our Conor gets closer to Hurricane Fly tomorrow. Looks like Jezki will be trying to make all.

I would echo Fenners point above re Big Bucks. There is no doubt that he is beatable but heā€™ll be a different animal come March id suspect. Whether that run today and the Cheltenham prep between now and then is good enough is hard to know

What are you insinuating?

Most horses who spend time in Martinstown show massive improvement in their next run.

Heā€™s had a lot of physical therapy but didnā€™t have to travel across

Good Limerick grass

Yes, grass

[quote=ā€œfenwaypark, post: 893061, member: 276ā€]I dont get the STD criticism myself. Big Bucks was never going to be ridden out the back as he would not have the toe of the younger horses. Stamina is his strength and Iā€™d imagine that STD was riding to instructions.

Big Bucks showed he is no back number and that was a hell of a run after 400 odd days off the track, particularly when he was racing against match fit opposition.

He will have a big say in the destination of the World Hurdle.

I would disagree with DB about More Of That. I think connections will be more keen to run him.

Donā€™t think anyone is suggesting he should have had him out the back FP but he committed far too early imo.

3:40 leop sterling stuff @ 9-1
This is a lovely ew bet. Back in nov he slipped up after jumping last in second behind tidy zag whoā€™s won 3 on the bounce. Then hacked up in a 3 m chase. Then ur when heā€™d have beaten todayā€™s 3rd bother clei. Tyners horses flying , this one is well ahead of the handicapper and will give a big run

I will have to watch the race again but my impression was that he had no choice but to commit as leaders gave way. I would say that the main aim today was to get a good blow into him and if he won, that would be a bonus.

Itā€™s a pretty tough race to weight up as the winner is moderate. If you took him out, it would probably look better for Big Buckā€™s and AFC. Think soft ground is vital to AFC chances and that is unlikely in a normal year.

My own opinion is that connections of More Of That know they have a serious young horse who is improving at an enormous rate and did not see the need to expose him to such a hard race as today.

I would be pretty sweet on MOT for world hurdle and after today, I would only fear AP.

Mossey Joe sold for Ā£160k this eveningā€¦heā€™s 11 !!! Only JP would spend that on him Iā€™d say

MOT would have been my pick also before mouse routed rule the world to the world hurdle. Heā€™ll be primed and by them well have seen his Neptune conqueror in the champion . Iā€™m pretty sure hell go off well below the 16s on offer now.AFC has good gnd form, I wouldnā€™t let that put anybody off him he will act on it alright

What the fuck?

Or Barry Connell , fox hunters ?

[quote=ā€œMac, post: 893055, member: 109ā€]Anyone looking for value tomorrow Iā€™d recommend a few quid e/w on Gallant Tipp in the 3.10 at the 10/1 currently available with Boyles or Seanie Mac.

As low as 5/1 in places

You could be right KC. Bought by Gerry Hogan who buys plenty for Connell

Nuts.

Acting on it wont do in a World Hurdle against Grade 1 horses.

Heā€™ll be fine on any ground , Curtis came around to that view herself last year, in any case with the weather they are having in the uk itā€™s likely the gnd will be good to softā€¦who knows
