Given that the epsiode with Tash’s baby was 6-10-06, we can assume the season finale is in about 8 weeks time? My busy season overtime finishes in 2 weeks time I would hope, so looking forward to H&A at 6.30 each evening. How’s the job hunting going Bandage? Also, who has looked at spoilers on the resolution of the season finale - just curious to see who couldn’t wait?
Excellent stuff all round today again.
Get it watched.
Thanks for the enquiry cc. No firm developments as yet but as I’m unattached I can make still move anywhere outside the transfer window.
So Dr Kev Green is somehow implicated in these shady Drew Curtis/Peter Baker dealings.
In fairness to rocko he said we should be wary of secondary characters. Now Kev’s another one to muddy the waters.
Secondary characters are the key to so many of these crimes. What was the name Jack was saying before he made the call? I wouldn’t mind solving one of these cases because I never get them right.
I think he was saying ‘Gillen’ but I’m not sure. I was trying to fugure it out earlier but I couldn’t work it out.
Nearly certain it was Gillen cant wait to see how he managed to solve the crime by looking at peters medical records. I cant for the life of me figure out what could be in them that would lead to any revelations.
Ok not to be totally shot down I know Amanda is a horrible person but I have to say I felt sorry for her yesterday. I know she was the adult and should have stayed away from Drew but she was not the total villain everyone is making her out to be. She didnt set her sights on Drew and stop at nothing to have him.
Drew really annoyed me yesterday, Amanda told him numerous times before they got together to stay away from her but he ignored it. Yet when she said it yesterday to him he got all bent out of shape and started moaning about why she would speak to him like that. Amanda didnt make a fool out of Drew and use him He got exactly what he wanted out of the relationship so he should shut up. How in the world did he ever think something serious could develop between them?
Also on yesterdays episode How unbelievable was it that no one else was in the police station but Jack that raises so many security issues its not even funny. The people of summer bay should be worried if they have police records as it seems anyone can walk in as they please.
I’d mostly agree on the Drew/Amanda side of things. Not sure I feel sorry for Amanda because she has a serious track record of things like this (when Dan was listing the reasons it was wrong he forgot to mention that it’s also Drew’s father’s ex-girlfriend in addition to his uncle’s ex-wife and his girlfriend’s mother obviously). That said I’ve no sympathy for Drew or his sudden decision to feel hurt and betrayed. Amanda is saying nothing now that she wasn’t saying all along.
The security in the cop shop is appalling. You’d think after the stalker incidents (even though there was insider involvement) they’d have been sure to secure the premises with swipe card admissions. I’d also consider the layout of the police station to be flawed. There are too many offices and desks in the public area - there should be a smaller waiting room with no direct access to the desk behind. At the moment anyone can just walk around to the far side of the desk.
Also I think it might be an idea not to have the interview room directly accessible from the waiting room. It presents flight opportunities for criminals and in the event of a controversial prisoner there could be a risk the public might intervene while they’re being brought to or from the interview room.
I think that is what is really annoying me the fact that Drew is pulling this poor me stick. He quickly went from professing his undying love and that they could survive anything to moaning that he she used me. If he truly loved Amanda he would never have put her in such a position and he would have respected the fact that she wants a relationship with her daughter. Im sure my sympathy for Amanda will be fleeting I was just put out about the fact that everyone turned on her so quickly.
I agree they really could redesign it better without too much trouble, I am surprised that there havent been more incidents. What got me was that Jack wasnt even on duty at the time he just stayed behind to work on Peters case. So where was the officer who should have been manning the front desk?
Agree totally on the security measures (or lack thereof) at Yabbie Creek Police Station.
I’m assuming there’s a few other lads outside the office where Jack was disturbed holding the likes of Darren McGrath or Ken hostage. If there was no cop on front desk duty then that’s simply unforgivable.
Are there any other bit-part characters that we need to be aware of?
I suppose we shouldn’t let the departure of Robbie and Tash go unmentioned either. Much as I thought Tash was a nice looking girl her hippy mannerisms and unfaltering honesty/stupidity began to grate on me. Robbie was always an idiot so I’m not too perturbed by their departure. Some fresh blood will be very welcome.
I have fooking seen it all now!
Peter Baker is alive. I cannot fooking believe this.
Incredible.
What an episode. I was finding the blood type story hard to follow at first but it made sense in the end of course. “Dad” - what a line from Drew.
I am delighted to see Peter back maybe he can get the security issues sorted once and for all. I wonder how they are going to explain the liver transplant does Jack have Eves or Traceys?
Are there any other bit-part characters that we need to be aware of?
I cant really think of any secondary characters that could be involved but then you never see them but as soon as its revealed its obvious. Could fitzy be involved after all she knew Jack was working back late?

I was happy to see Tash and Robbie go, never liked Tash after the never ending believers storyline and lost all respect for Robbie when he took her back immediately. It didnt make me believe that their love could surmount anything it just made me think he was pitiful and pathetic.
Robbie was always out of his depth with Tash - he’d never have scored her if she wasn’t mentally unstable so I never had much emotion invested in them as a couple.
Fitzy could be involved - I’d like to think the opposite but you can’t rule anyone out. Same with McGrath though he’s even more unlikely. I like the way he’s conducted the investigation so far - there’s been a real urgency and purpose about it and I wouldn’t hold him responsible for Drew leggging it.
Who would we like to see as replacements for Robbie and Tasha?
I’d like to see another Kane or Ric (or Tug O’Neill) type guy. Maybe a guy living locally from a messed up family who nobody likes but wins the Bay over through hard work despite a fondness for the booze. He could be mates with Macca.
Without anybody who knows too much and has been reading ahead revealing anything…but wasn’t Peter Baker dead on a hospital bed in Northern District Hospital with Dan holding his hand?
I can’t get my head around it.
We have this new Rocko/Rocco kid after arriving so he could fit the bill.
You’d also have to question Beth Hunter’s parenting skills with Scott, an emotional wreck and wimp, now living in France, Kit, a 20 year-old alcoholic now living in the city, Robbie, an 18 year-old wuss, now living in Boston, and Henry, a 16 year-old ‘dancer’ living in a private school in the city.
Mrs Rock was only asking me the other day where Henry was and for the life of me I couldn’t remember.
The best 25 minutes of my life.
Simply astounding.
I am in awe of everything about this programme.
Standing ovation in my house.
I dont think they currently need new blood just to develop new storylines for the existing characters. I think Ric is being underutilised at the moment and we have gone over previously about how Tony is in desperate need of his own storyline.
You could argue that she was such a good mother that she gave them the confidence and support to pursue their dreams. Wont it be worse if they wanted to stay near her every single one of them was a waste of space and the bay lacks for nothing without them.
Brilliant episode today Peter was outstanding. I love him even more now. Its episodes like today that are why you never give up on this show.
Possibly I’m letting my emotions get the better of me what with it being only an hour since I sat down to watch today’s instalment.
But I think that is the best Home and Away episode I have ever seen.
My adrenaline is still pumping half an hour after it ended.
Immense.
No I dont think your going over board at all the episode was outstanding. Its the best in a long while I just hope they keep this standard up.
I even got emotional when Peter was its you or me and thats not a choice Im willing to make. Peter was excellent and I was impressed by Drews breakdown after the shot
Just in the door so thank Christ I had the foresight to record today’s episode. Wonderful.
My favourite moment was a brilliantly understated moment from Peter “When I found out what witness protection had done I hit the roof” - of course you did. They told your family you were dead, faked a liver transplant and buried someone else’s remains in your grave. Every right to hit the roof. What a cop though, Gillen was no match for him.
