5-1 up in the third and @ChairmanDan thinks he’s injured
@ChairmanDan doesn’t know anything about tennis.
He’s not injured.
If he had an abdominal muscle tear as he claimed there’s no way he’d be able to play like he’s doing now.
It was a form issue the other night, he’s looked really good this evening and with Thiem gone you’d not expect him in the final.
Zverev was very unimpressive early on in his straight sets win against Lajovic.
Djokovic is maybe finally showing some belated maturity in realising that injuries are part and parcel of the game and that there are injuries where you just have to play through the pain barrier.
Federer quite possibly an inspiration for Djokovic in that regard. The Great Man played through the pain barrier for years with his debilitating back problems and the after affects of mononucleosis. Never quit on his chair either even when injured. Always afforded his opponent the professional courtesy of playing through to the bitter end.
So you’re now backtracking.
Have you any conviction in what you say at all?
You seem to be a very, very angry and embittered man.
You’re the very, very angry and embittered man. Not able to debate or argue the issues at hand this morning so instead you revert to your usual bad mannered and boorish tactics of name calling and personal insults. Allied to the usual deflection, bluster and moving of goalposts.
You need to let go of that rage. I’ve schooled you on facts.
You’re lauding Dimtirov, a journeyman player who has never won a slam, never played in a slam final, has only won 3 matches in 32 attempts agains the big 3 as superior player to Thiem who is a few years his junior but is a reigning grand slam champ, the current world no 3, a 4 time slam finalist and has won 16 of his 34 matches against the big 3.
You then took to backtracking on your ignorance of the game as I had the point out that your misguided and embittered comments actually showed you calling your hero a liar.
Nadal v Tsitsipas
Medvedev v Rublev
Nadal and Medvedev through in straight sets.
Rublev was handed a walkover after being 2 sets up
Tsitsipas didn’t even have to play after Berrettini withdrew with an abdominal strain - for context Djokovic claims he tore his abdominal muscle in the Fritz game.
A lot of injuries in this slam, no doubt due to the lack of preparation and warm games in advance. Nadal had to withdraw from the ATP cup with a back injury that is impacting his service motion.
Djokovic has to be the big favourite now given he only really has Zverev on his side of the draw.
4 of the top 7 are on the other side do whoever comes through that side will have used up a lot of energy along with Djokovic having an extra days rest also.
Big chance for the 27 year old Grand Slam debutant journeyman Karatsev to continue his improbable run and make a semi final. It’s a set apiece early in the 3rd but Dimitrov is badly wounded. He’s done his back and can barely move here.
Three breaks in a row for Karatsev to take the 3rd set 6-1. Dimitrov is reduced to serving at about 140km an hour now and can barely move. Sad to watch. He’s taking a medical time out now at the end of this 3rd set but it’s hard to see him continuing with these back spasms.
My God.
You are clueless.
Hard to call Djokovic Zverev match with Djokovics “injury”. A fully fit Djokovic and you would have to make him slight favorite.
first blood to Zverev.
Novak in a bit of bother in the first.
Novak looks very hampered by his injury.
just waiting for whatever pain medication to kick in and then he will be back to normal.
Djokovic is playing possum. He’s odds on fav to win it out. Guy ranked outside the top 100 waiting in the semi and an extra days rest for the final as 4 of the top 7 then do a Battle Royale to come through the other side of the draw.
No crowd really suits Djokovic.
Zverev takes the first set in the tie break. Novak looks a shadow of his usual self with the debilitating injury.
Zverev wins the first in just shy of an hour.
Remarkable how you are able to excuse every players performances when injured except for when it comes to Nadal.
