Tsitsipas has fallen apart since two sets up in the French Open final. All of those ‘New Gen’ are as weak as piss.

He’s a complete baby.

Alcaraz looks the real deal, he’s got the Rafa mentality though stylistically he’s a bit different.

He’s made a R4 at a younger age than Rafa/Djokovic/Federer did and I think the physical gap between emerging teen players and established players is wider than ever.

I’m going to say now that Alcaraz will win double figures in slams over his career. He’s still probably a good 5 years off reaching the the sort of age it takes for physical level it will take for a slam generally.

Not sure what’s the story with Thiem, he was the guy who had the mental edge and temperament to really put Djokovic to the pin of his collar but there has clearly been something at play this year, be it physical, mental or personal.

Zverev/Tsitsipas/Medvedev are good enough to be competing for and winning slams if they have their heads right but don’t.

Berrettini seems to have a good temperament but I think he’s a level below the above lads. Same maybe could be said for Rublev. Shapovalov has began to kick on this year but needs to go into another gear now, FAA has underwhelmed.

Osaka lost the plot at the end of the second set. Throwing her racket and walking off at the end of the set with a towel over her head.

Midway through the third set and she is 4-3 down but it is tough watchI as you think Osaka is about to go over the edge. If Fernandez can hold her nerve she will win this.

Osaka out. I don’t expect Osaka to do a press conference.

Rublev beaten by Tiafoe. Yet another of the much vaunted New Gen crashes out early.

Shapovalov out.

Sinner Zverev, the only real standout tie in the last 16 and you’d expect the winner in the semi.

Hard to see past Medvedev for the final slot on the other side of the draw.

At least it looks like Djokovic will have a relatively stern test from the QF stage with 3 giraffes in Berrettini/Zverev/Medvedev to overcome.

Zverev on a good run at the minute with the win in Cincinnati and Olympic Gold. It will be interesting if he can harness that belief and play with real conviction against Djokovic in the semi, he had one hand on the trophy last year but blew a two set lead to Thiem in the final.

7 unseeded players in last 16, just 4 of top 10 seeds and that was depleted enough to begin with in a field without Thiem, Nadal and Federer. The standard is just brutal.

Baby Rafa through to the quarters where he will take on FAA.

And FAA is coached by uncle Tony.

I’d say it’s nailed in Rafa will be Alcaraz coach at some point in the next 5 years.

The torch will be passed on seamlessly.

Sinner I would expect will give Zverev plenty of it here. The match of the 4th round.

You’d fancy Zverev on form here though.

Zverev is looking good seems to be finally hitting his potential.

The acid test will be Djokovic but he’s in top form now.

The English kid is into the QF, just beat a big American unit.

A big giraffe kill just there now. Big Reilly Opelka, all 6ft 11 of him has crashed out.

World number 99 ranked wild card Jenson Brooksby has taken the first set 6-1 in the last of the Fourth Round matches against Djokovic.

Djokovic breaks for a 2-0 lead at the start of the 2nd set. He’ll probably drop about 4 games from here on in.
