The Tennis Thread

With the advances in sports science*, most sports have become countries for old men (and women).

*And doping.

You’d think all these kids would have a bit of endurance to sustain an effort beyond 2 sets.

Great day for British tennis. Our own Cameron Norrie is into the semi finals.

Great day for New Zealand. Cameron Norrie into the semi finals.

Great day for South Africa. Cameron Norrie into the semi finals.

Is it possible that Nadal and Djokovic have exclusivity agreements with their dealers?

It was quite similar to the turnaround he had against Tsitsipas in the French Open Final last year. Didn’t seem to have the legs at all as he lost the first two sets to an opponent 11 years his junior. Then he rattles off the last 3 sets something like 6-3 6-2 6-4

Rafa not able to handle this six foot five giraffe on his surface.

Nadal a different player since his medical time out.

Come on Rafa

Rafa is in bits here.

Rafa Rafa Rafa

That’s some drop shot

On the ropes now

36 year old Nadal looking fresh as a daisy now as he takes the 4th set against a tiring opponent, 11 years his junior.

Remarkable how golf which is an old mans game has a plethora of major winners in early 20s now and tennis a young mans game has men in their mid to late 30s hoovering up majors.

Tennis is in an awful state. The standard has never been worse.

We’ll never see the likes of Novak and Rafa again. The greatest players by a significant distance.
