its a bit like the spl without the changing of the guard.
Nadal had numerous break points but each time Federer smacked an ace with his next serve…
If that had been anyone else Federer would have rolled over them in the last set but not Nadal. He just wore Federer down with brilliant shot after brilliant shot. His serve wasn’t broken in the entire match except in the tie breaks…
I don’t think I have known of a sport where two players are so far ahead of the rest…
every point was so tense & hard fought - great sport, great viewing
the US open will be good now although djokovic is excellant too

Phil Taylor and James Wade
He said sport Flano
Phil Taylor sports man of the year.
Wade isn’t miles better than Barney for instance…
Barney is gone awful though. As of right now Taylor and Wade can’t be touched.
Oh and Mac go and broaden your horizons. Darts is more of a sport than GGA. Ask Bristow and he’ll sort ya.
And Shan, only sportsman of the year? Sidney boy says he’s sportsman of all time. I’m sure you’ve heard his ramblings during the Premier League when you’re stuck in work

I have only been in for a couple of them and I got off early for one of them so dont remember him saying that. If Taylor could play Bobby George then it would be the game of games.

Federer broke Nadal at the start of the second set Farmer. Federer and Nadal aren’t that far ahead of Djokovic imo.
The commentary I was listening to was infuriating; they were just hell bent on verbally wanking Nadal off. Thought there was disrespect coming from all quarters for Federer. That guy is probably the best ever to play the sport, just cos there’s a new kid on the block doesn’t diminish that.
Great match though and Rafa probably deserved to win although I only saw to 2-2 in the final set.

I stand corrected on the break of serve.
Federer is class and probably one of the best to play the game. People talk about Nadal coming back to win having being brought back to 2-2 but what about Federer pulling it back to 2-2 and losing so narroowly in the end. I actually think that Nadal is also one of the greatest to play the game as well. To have never been beaten at the French Open is an incredible statstic…
I’ve never been beaten at the French Open either mind you…
At present Nadal is a beast, Sunday confirmed he is now the equal of Federer, and has all the equipment to pass him out. Federer will go down as one of the greats, but Nadal has the ability to be the greatest. Pure power and finesse, this guy could dominate for years. Novak has a bit about him, but question marks still exist over his metality.
Probably is but still has to win an Australian Open and a US Open. The only doubts that persist over Federer are whether he can win a French. I’m sure he’ll surpass Sampras in terms of slams.
Duuno if anyone saw the documentary on Federer between the rain breaks on Sunday but they had interviews with Sampras in it. He came across as a complete tosspot - constantly making reference to how Federer was getting close to how good he was and shite like that.
He is a hundred times better than you ever were Sampras - he doesn’t rely 100% on his serve…
Bit harsh Farmer. Sampras is one of the greats. The funniest I saw in one of those documentaries was Becker talking about how Sampras passed the torch onto Federer much like Becker did to Sampras. Becker wasn’t in the same league. Idiot.
Big serve - that was all he had.
Never liked the boring hairy fooker…
Becker was a class player!
This bint lost today to Kim Clijsters.

Here is her face
Some decent graphic analysis of Federer’s shot style:

Justine Henin apparently coming back. Would expect her to be world number one in no time.
