This is what we are looking at it.
Should hopefully avoid the really boggy stuff until towards the end.
What ways that? Go Black rd direction myself. Good luck with the weather. Makes all the difference.
King’s Yard, over Sheffin and onto the Blackroad up to GaltyBeg
Galtymore is the rolls Royce of Irish hiking
Galtymore has its own micro climate.
Started off in thunder & lightning storm, cleared into a lovely morning, then once we got near the peak of Galtybeg the wind picked up and it was unreal. Would nearly lift you off your feet. Was crazy at the top of Galtymore. Lovely then once we got a bit lower on the descent. Very enjoyable trek.
Wind direction. I suppose, it’s been a very mixed morning of weather in Limerick City too.
When I went up Torc last summer it was grand all the way up, when I got to the peak I couldn’t actually even stand up, my favourite hat blew away
Looks lovely there though, well done
The hat you were wearing when the lad from here was stalking you?
Looks lovely. Did you stick to the route you posted above?
No, I had on a different hat the day I was followed up a hill by a poster from TFK, I still have that one
Close enough to it ya.
The Black Road was more like a river.
That’s class.
It’s always great when one of our own goes out and just does it, no pissing and moaning, no drama, no attaching of insecurities or inadequacy.
Happy New Year @TreatyStones
What, goes for a stroll?
Beautiful pictures. A great way to help you with dealing with your agoraphobia. Happy new year to you and continue with your hiking, there’s nothing more revitalising.
Gonna try do that route this weekend. Have the water proof boots but hope it’s dried a bit.
Has anyone been up Mt Brandon or Carrauntoohill this year yet?
The Alpinist Documentary on Sky is insane
Great watch.
Did you watch Free Solo? Yer man from that makes an appearance saying how unrale Marc is… probably the ultimate compliment in retrospect.
Great characters.
More for the mismatch in the text which is so typical of rte news than the hiking reference
