OK, a neighbor has upgraded and offered me this amp and speakers, it’ll allow me to get the turntable anyway and get started, pick up new separates in time if I need.
Any of our hi-fi experts know if these are likely to be decent? I know (think)techniks is a good brand but I suppose these are quite old
Looks decent. They’d be fairly well known for their hi Fi gear (the 1210 is the standard dj turntable. Mighty yoke). I don’t know anything about them for speakers. I’m sure they’d be fine.
I will show it to my colleague who is a sound engineer and knows these things inside out (has about four or five 1210s in his house I think).

We’ve it set up here for the CD player, sounds great to me anyway, speakers seem to be in great nick, listening to a bit of vintage Suede

Dug this out and played it there now. In incredible Nick considering it is 40 years old and been in and out of numerous houses and flats with me.

I think @Fagan_ODowd said they were a load of cobblers but I think they’re class. Really great when I saw them in vicar street a while back.

They’re a fine covers band
I’ve listened briefly to their most recent album and I was impressed.
