By modern day standards you paid a pittance
I got Carol King for five euro out the Ennis road car boot sale place about 6 year ago
I have that album. One of a hape I got off my aunt 20+ years ago. Neil Young, Beatles, Wings, CSNY, Cat Stevens, Carole King, etc.
Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman is one of my all time favourites.
Whereās good online for some second hand stuff? Is your mate Albert still going in town for newer stuff?
Albert works for the library now. Plugd is still going alright but he doesnāt work there.
I donāt tend to buy second hand but Iād say Discogs probably. Steamboat do some second hand stuff as well.
Donāt mind some second handā¦ If itās someone Iām really into Iāll buy new.
Iāll boycott plugd so.
Ah donāt. Jimmy is a great lad.
Ray in Musiczone is a lovely lad @backinatracksuit but donāt think he does much (if any) s/h?
They used to be in Douglas and Iāve bought a few bits from themā¦ i must pop out again. Slim pickings on the second hand stuff usually tho.
Are you old enough to remember Comet records? That was a great shop, Jim and George were like the lads in High Fidelity, theyād practically sneer if you looked for something they didnāt approve of, New Yearās Day everything was half price, youād have to queue for an hour to get in, Albert would have been a regular,
To the side of the old Central Bank? Loads of graffiti?
A bit before my time but my brothers would have frequented it.
One of the guys from there is still in Tower Records I think?
There was a Comet records there as well
My one was on Washington Street in Cork
I know of Jim but Comet was before my time. Was it the same unit on Washington Street that Plugd originally opened in?
Yeah, down by Singers Corner
Is Doc still going down the Limerick market?
Yeah that was Comet Records run by Brian OāKelly who was in the the Gorehounds. It was a tremendous record shop. Brian is a bit of a survivor and works in Tower Records now.
