The War on Drugs - Currently the Best Band Around?

Why donā€™t you go put clamps on your nipples and knock one out to a picture of Gerry Adams with the Wolfe Tones belting out full blast, you creep.

Because itā€™s not permitted under the terms of my employee handbook.

Right. Carry on then.

Thatā€™s a very specific clause. Was it put in after a previous incident?

How come i have been listening to this for weeks?

ā€œPainā€ is a belter

Perhaps your listening device is, like your GAA opinions, stuck on repeat?

Holding on is better.

And lads, i donā€™t get this Tom Petty thing too much at all

Iā€™d pay no heed to the chap that used that analogy - He has clamps on his nipples.

Heard it said a few times now.

Tail end of his lines his voice does a bit. But its a small bit

Holding on is a real growerā€¦

Of course thereā€™s a Tom Petty influence, but itā€™s the rhythm section. The influences are mainly Americana, Uncle Tupelo and the two great bands they spawned.

Itā€™s wonderful but after repeated listens Iā€™m not convinced itā€™s as good as Lost in a Dream.

Pitchfork are retarded with their reviews.

For instance they gave In the Aeroplane Over the Sea an ordinary review when it was released first but they changed it to 10 out of 10 upon a re-release when they noticed that everyone else was saying it was brilliant.

Similar thing with Spiderland.

They have their favourites - Radiohead for example.

Iā€™ll be attending their Glasgow gig in November. Any requests?

Iā€™ll be at the Manchester gig. Iā€™ll take a request too.

Iā€™m torn on it. Listen to both today. Very little in it

Iā€™ve only really listened to it properly this week after hearing a few songs here and there for the last month. 5 or 6 times from start to finish since Monday. Itā€™s very, very good.
