🌬 The Weather Thread part 2

No, it’s the Mersey 40 miles upriver.

The mersey is tidal

It’s not tidal for 40 miles. All rivers are tidal. Thinks about it.

Jesus mate, not all rivers are tidal

Tides can influence up to 100km upstream

It’s all a matter of heights mate. Any river that flows into a sea with a tide is tidal to an extent, unless it opens down a waterfall or summat

So not all rivers and where you are is tidal.

What tf are you on about?
You reckon the river Mersey above Manchester is tidal?
Ok, it’s tidal.

There was a flood in roscommon the other day

It could be affected by a high tide, yes, effects from a high tide can be seen up to 100km up stream.

The sea is powerful. Do you think it’s the rain alone causing it

Hasnt been as bad as previous years though along the Shannon so far anyway,

Think February over the last few years has had a lot more rain though.

No mate. The tide came in

Tides don’t exist.

Doubt if it’s tidal past the Ship Canal, is there not a big weir in Warrington as well?

There’s a big Weir in didsbury, but anyhow.
The ship canal is a man-made waterway entirely separate from the Mersey.

The Mersey goes into the ship canal and travels along it for 4 or 5 miles.

I never knew that.

Enters after Irlam Locks

Tides don’t exist.

That’s flat earth level stuff there
