The Weather Thread
Can’t believe people have actually gone home, to be fair to the head of HR here it was like a blizzard when he sent the mail but it’s fine now. Some people.

I reckon most workplaces could cut 25% of their staff and continue to function as normal, some people are just deadweights.
Maybe this was a test

I’m badly stuck for a Bridge partner due to the weather. Does anyone on the board in the north Dublin area play a weak no-trump, five card majors?

The only guy under the age of 60 I am aware of that plays Bridge is ClarkeyCat but he based southside - just.

No doubt my place will still have people in till 12 midnight. Paddy himself has crashed his car. 9 people liked that facebook status. I took a good week off.

I am hearing reports that the green line Luas is jammmed with all the regular bus goers hopping on.

I may well walk it this evening.

It must be around 3 miles of a walk though, is it?

This is some buzz. Place is hopping here with people running for the exits. Known DARTers talking of buses not running and luasers saying the luas will be full so they’ve all legged it so they can queue up for it.

It’s all a huge overreaction but I’m embracing it because it’s exciting.

Mrs Rock has just texted to say some girl fell on Westland Row and nearly got run over and there was lots of screaming. Sensational weather.

Be very careful Farmer, Arshavin23 has just informed me that he fell twice on his journey home this evening.

The roads are mental I believe, our company bus has been caught in traffic all afternoon and didn’t get to make its final drop of the evening, tragic stories all round it seems.

UPDATE on the traffic:

Some serious beeping of horns on Amiens St. from angry drivers.

I was sent home from work at 2 with everyone else to avoid the inevitable traffic.

I’m now working from home. No really, I am…

I’m about to make my journey home and have decided to keep hands in pockets.

Temptation otherwise is to use your hands / arms to break a potential fall and you’ll end up with a broken wrist or elbow.

Under my planned tactics, I’d probably only take some superficial cuts to the head / face area.

Godspeed Bandage.

It’ll be a miracle if all forum members make it home unscathed tonight, a real Christmas miracle.

“I am just going outside and may be some time.”

The drama of it all is fantastic. This is what it must be like when war breaks out.

Ah poor auld Larry really took one for the team.

I see lots of english people on the news saying that they can’t go home just yet. Where have we heard that before?

Fuck this shit!! Just coming to the end of a 2 week stay in Morocco and was hoping the cold snap would be gone by the time I got back… Looks like the weekend is gonna be as cold as ever! Bastard…

How many bags are we talking here? 12? I wouldn’t say you’re getting a good deal there. I bought a couple of fine big bags of turf off a traveller just before xmas for a fiver a pop…
