The Weather Thread

Luckily I’m not long after my Christmas bath, so I should be alright until at least February. :pint:

Charles and Camilla are a pair of wood pidgeons that reside in the crab apple tree in my back garden, I’ve come to refer to the tree as the honeymoon suite.

Charles likes to strut up and down the garden like he’s on a red carpet, while Camilla looks on, flirting, like she’s sitting on a throne. But this morning Charles, who’s the size of a turkey btw, has come right up to the patio door and started pecking at the rosemary.

Having absorbed the meteorlogical wisdom of the Donegal Postman I suspect Dublin South City is in for a serious snowfall.

I read last night that there is a “very high possibility of a natiowide snow event on Saturday and/or Sunday”. Sunday in particular is supposed to get very bad.

On the BBC’s weather forecast last night they showed almost the whole of southern Ireland being covered by snow on Saturday night.

It’ll get worse before it gets better acc to RT last night.

This is what AA Roadwatch is saying at present

Road temperatures have dropped to -14 on the N81 at Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow

Thats crazy shit right there, -14. Fucking hell.

SNOW

Snowing very heavily now in Dublin South City

Our feathered friends should be doing the weather, time for Dr Aiden to retire

i was outside last night after training and when I breathed out my breath froze solid and dropped to the ground. Honest.

Fucking artic last night I found. A sheet, three blankets and a duvet and I still wasn’t warm.

There was a freezing fog last night. Very cool

You should have had a young wan in there with ya,she’d keep ya warm:thumbsup:

Was thinking that and I take Tinnion’s view of it. The presence of a young wan in the bed is first and foremost an aid to getting a good night sleep.

And that was just to cover your legs

From Met Eireaan

The wintry cold spell will continue for the foreseeable future. Apart from a few snow showers near east and south coasts, Saturday night will be dry, but very cold with severe frost and ice. Sunday will be cold and mostly cloudy with occasional sleet and snow showers in the south and east, giving accumulations in places. Monday will be very cold again. It’ll be a mostly cloudy day with frequent showers of sleet and snow in a strong easterly wind. Significant accumulations will occur and drifting is possible due to strong easterly winds. Apart from a few snow showers, Tuesday will be mostly dry but very cold in a strong east to southeast wind.

SNOW DRIFTS :eek::eek: incredible scenes

Cold due to south east winds.

I thought that they are the best kind of winds - warmest.

North I can understand but south east?

What have we done to the world?

Arshavin may be onto something here, might pop in and pick one up today at lunchtime.

What about the good old fashioned hot water bottle?

Never a fan to be honest.

I’d be partial to the old hot water bottle too but reckon the blanket is the way forward during this hard spell.
