The who is going in to work versus who is (Not)WFH/taking AL tomorrow thread?

You need a face to face before hiring, to see the whites of their eyes

I’d say you’ve interviewed some spacers over the years.

I’ve posted it before. Few years ago we’d a work experience lad in.

At the end they’ve to fill a form in about their experience. What they liked/didn’t like etc.

One of the girls calls me in. Hands me your man’s form. Question about what he expected versus what it was turned out to be or something like that

He’d written “I expected they’d all be cunts but they were actually very nice”

I’d have hired him

Apple in Cork are offering a hybrid model of 3 days in the office and 2 at home to everyone. They have had to formalise what working from home actually means for tax purposes. Because they draw on employees in various parts of Europe they are also allowing 1 month of the year where an employee can elect to work from home without coming into the office which will give an opportunity to those who are from Spain, Poland etc to go home to their motherland.

Same deal being proposed in our place but most people not happy with it and basically don’t ever want to go back to the office again. Interesting 12 months ahead.

How will your tea lady get around to delivering all the mail to people at home?

It’s a good compromise

We use email in the private sector pal much more efficient.

Do you still get time off every Friday to cash your pay cheque?

No mate, we get paid into out bank accounts.

and how do you go about emailing tangible items?

Yeah I am sensing that in my place too . A significant minority dont want to be in at all and if they have to would be prepared to do 1 day grudgingly. Some of it relates to having to wear a mask all day though. My place was leaning towards 3 but a compromise at 2 might be arrived at. IBEC may be lobbying companies behind the scenes too to harmonise policy across the board in an effort to prevent people leaving in their droves.

People are hardly being forced to wear a mask all day sitting down in an office? We just put them on when we get out of our seat

Progress :clap::clap:

They were still getting the half day long after they moved to being paid into their bank accounts.

Ah yeah but they were entitled to that.
