Godspeed You! Black Emperor gig in Tripod on Friday last. They were pretty loud.
There were two lads at it, one who pulled out a pair of ear plugs half way during the gig and stuck them in his ear, and another who used the earphones from his iPod as ear plugs.

What was with all the immensely tall men at this gig? I’m not that wee, but felt tiny surrounded as I was by a fortress of bearded and/or bespectacled and/or long-haired behemoths. Couldn’t see a damned thing. The sound was decent though, I just stared at my feet and let it wash through me. I think my mind melted halfway through Moya.

Todays grievance is fuckwits who talk too loud on their phones in bookshops. Charlie Byrnes is a brilliant little bookshop in Galway that is generally frequented by the kind of people who know you shouldn’t speak loudly on your phone in general and certainly not in a relaxing place like a small bookshop. Today some cunt in a D4 accent was braying into his phone for what seemed like hours about how ‘loike, TOTALLY WASTED’ he ended up last night with his loathsome idiot scumbag friends. If I was any sort of a man I would have taken his phone and beaten him to death with it. But I didn’t.
