What about wearing them with stuff in them? I have a friend who has used them on holidays as a carry-on bag when they check a bag on. He found it handy for carrying a book, bottle of water, passport, etc through the airport but I also found it handy as a man bag going to the beach for towel, water, etc. It looks kinda like this.
