The 4 years is such a stupid state of affairs. Hypothetically speaking if Tipp don’t get out of Munster in 22 and 23 then Cahill is gone. They are rolling agreements.

Is he not supposed to be well in the running?? Everyone you hear discussing it mentions him. What would the general view of him be in Tipp?
There’d be a thing against him because of the success of Kildangan and the large amount of Kildangan players on the panel.
The general sentiment on the street in Tipp is we need a complete change to the management teams of 2008-21 which is basically from the Sheedy/O’Shea gene pool.
The problem is that Tommy Dunne/Egan joined the band rather than forge their own identity.
Willie Maher would be a move away from that while MD could also be suited. The selection of coach is as important, Johny Kelly would be probably the most highly rated on the club scene.
What has Maher done before cuala? He was handed a gimme there with that squad. Egan seems a bit soft. What about Richie stake lump and someone else?
He won at all Ireland minor in 12, unlucky not to beat Limerick in 13.
Went on to beat Limerick in 16 at under 21 but took huge flack when they were hammered by Waterford. That was on in Walsh park which is a tough place to go but it was a stacked Waterford.
Tipp were useless in 17 beaten by a brilliant Limerick team. It’s not a bad record all in all. Tipp had an excellent 21 team in 2015 that should have went further but CB delayed his appointment.
From what I know he’s an excellent organiser and facilitator which is vital these days. Getting a coach to come in with him may be the challenge.

Richie Stakelum is living in Dublin and has not been significantly involved with them in a while.
The pool has got smaller with Egan taking on the Wexford job.
It’s as good an opportunity as Willie Maher will get to take it.
