Kiladangan keeping their best for the most important time or the year.
Dan o meara goal with the last puck of the game put a gloss on it. Best game of the year.
Final will be a 50/50 game all the same.
Drom gave everything but when Kiladangan got a handle on Tommy nolan their scores dried up. Of the possible Tipp panellists, Podge campion was poor and John campion was quiet.
Drom will be disappointed with that. Trying to play it through the lines in those conditions led to them turning over a lot of ball. Kildangans more direct style and then running from the centre created some great opportunities.
The better team won and the goal in the last minute was probably gave a fairer reflection of the difference between the teams. Kiladangan forwards were better at running directly, tackling and winning their own ball. Drom’s half back line were poor; Fintan Purcell and Podge Campion both looked jittery and nervous on the ball.
From a Drom perspective, they can be happy with the progress made this year; two years ago, Kiladangan gave them a serious trimming at this stage and last year they were a few points away from a relegation playoff. There is a lack of players coming through though, once again Callanan, David Collins and Johnny Ryan led the way up front today and there was nobody on the bench who could have tagged on a point or two or won a free when the game was on the melting pot. Other than Tommy Nolan, the rest of the forwards and midfleld were more or less anonymous.
