If he gets the three months, I hope he called Johnny every name under the sun and got his value for money. Sure we will be out of championship within the month anyway.
I doubt there is a worse ref at intercounty level. When blended in with a deep seeded hatred of Tipperary what chance do you have. The fact that he got Brian Gavins seal of approval spoke volumes.
The father was at it and said Tommy didnât stop from minute one. Was roaring at the linesman and 4th Official. A category 5 is a fair one though. Be interesting to see what Murphy put in his report
Yes he was in front of me and at it from the get go. Every single decision and line ball.
You werenât too far from the oul lad so.
What was Dunneâs gripe? That possible red card before half time? I only saw the first half in a pub in Cork and didnât think Murphy had a particularly bad day, he didnât seem to ride either teamâŚ?
The one thing with Johnny, and most clubs in Limerick will attest to this, is that you canât open your mouth to him. If Dunne kept going and kept going at him it was only going to end one way.
Tipp were hurling well, had a deserved lead. Why get involved in something stupid like that?
Murphy isnât even from a hurling club in Limerick even more bizarre
No sympathy for any selector berating an official from the start. Might learn a lesson from it
Johnny is a clown, but he was grand Sunday.
Tommy Dunne is obviously a bit of a cunt to be coming on verbally abusing him at half time.
Whoâd be a ref
Apropos of nothing, my favourite ever RTĂ montage and music accompaniment was when they brought in Tommy Dunne as an analyst and introduced him with a montage of him playing to the sound of Tommy Gun by the Clash.
Woah! Would love this footage
Great hurler
Brilliant stuff. I remember him that year before the quarter finals and theyâd a hape of pundits on. He was the only to tip Tipp to win that year.
Nicely done. Itâs class.
He gave an iconic performance in the 2001 final. Some hurler.
His 2 goals in the 2000 munster final against Cork would grace any era. Phenomenol strikes. Especially when you take into account that putting a 65 over the bar back then was considered a rare skill. Liam Cahill was playing that day too but hardly pucked a ball save a flick for the first Dunne goal. That 2000 munster final loss against Cork was a game that was thrown away. Paul Shelly lined up against The Rock on that prticular day.
Weâd two penalties saved that day. I remember five of us travelled without tickets (must have been a sell-out) and one-by-one, we got five for the terrace.
I was lifted in over the turnstiles the same day.
My first Munster Final.
