Because Limerick never feared Tipp.
Fuck Tipp. And you can believe that.

Theyâll always have that Divisional Cup to look back on.
If you swapped those managements around next year I would back Limerick to win. Better players and extremely well established in their systems at this stage while tipp arenât going to be transformed overnight. Give it two years though and itâs a different proposition, three and Iâd be backing whoever has Kiely and Kinnerk.
That divisional cup raised a lot of money for good causes.
Hearing from reliable source that Cahill is the next manager and its pretty much a done deal.
The Limerick lads that werenât exceptionally gifted hurlers were so as athletes. Couldnât get better raw material to work with.
Cody was very complimentary about Limerick and their prospects after the game in 17â.
The thought had crossed my mind
I think you greatly underestimate how quickly things can go pete tong.
You could tell that it never sat right with him managing against his own.
âTis easy compliment a team after beating them though. Iâd say he wasnât speaking in such tones after they beat him in 2018. Similar to Jack Oâ Connor going out of his way to shake Ciaran Kilkennyâs hand after the game Sunday. Pep Guardiola did similar hyping up Nathan Redmond on the pitch after a win against Southampton a few years back.
Not that I want the man to leave Wexford, but surprised no one here has mentioned Darragh Egan.
Just my judgement on this Limerick team, theyâre so well established in their play at this stage theyâd probably get through a year. Comparable maybe to Limerick in 2013/14. Allen had a great set up in 2013, team played great in 2014 under TJ but very much player led by all accounts. All went off a cliff then the following year.
Weâve a fairly dysfunctional county board. They could be on the phone to Babs now, for all we know.
That seems to have been handled very badly.
They made him present his plans for 2023 when they knew well they were going to sack him?
Or perhaps present his plans, review said plans and then decided they didnât like what was on offer? Hard to know but theyâve a history of making a balls of things
Seems prudent and best practice tbh. They gave him a chance to change their mind and he didnât do enough to sway it. Most condemned men donât get to pitch for another chance.
My personal opinion would be that, in that case, you at least give yourself a little time to reflect. Have a follow-up meeting the following week and give him the courtesy of explaining in person.
Because, we all knew he was being set up to be the fall guy at the start of the year. Nobody else wanted the job, he took over and nothing was expected of him. There were some very disappointing results and I donât think he was the man to lead them forward but considering he got them out of a hole in the first place, youâd think theyâd be less cuntish about it.
Who had Bonner lined up to replace Dunne and Curran? or did he arrive into the county board with a figurative hole in his trousers and they decided enough was enough
Iâd be thinking thatâs what happened
