Tipperary GAA 2022

Yeah you are probably right. When we lost our 19 year old goalkeeper at a music festival we played a match 2 weeks later. It was tough and we were emotionally and mentally exhausted. We all got to see him hooked up to a ventilator and say our goodbyes in what can only be described as the grimmest of places in the world to me at that time. Even when my first was born it still caused me stress knowing what happened in that same hospital. It is my overriding memory when I pass the place and the since of foreboding and dread. Maybe Semple Stadium and the sight of a GAA pitch is that same crucible for them. How you look at it is changed irrevocably.

It wont, but I dont think withdrawing will do anything more than kick the problem down the road. Sadly these things happen, and life moves on regardless.

C/R will be taking to the field on Sunday.

If themselves and Kilruane win I could see the final game being cancelled as both teams will be through.

That’s good news

Some blow to the club. I know its only hurling but gone from contenders to back in the pack.

One thing I will say is they have loads of players so whoever comes on won’t be a duck by any means. Obviously not of the same standard.

I think they will win on Sunday.

I would think they are a cert the weekend.

My Drom sources (cc @TreatyStones) tell me that James Woodlock is flying in training and may make an appearance in Semple Stadium this Sunday.

That’s great to hear.

He’s only 36 this year (2 years older than Callanan but feels like he’s from a different era.)

He played midfield for their intermediate team a couple of weeks back.

Another bonus of the split season. Andy Moran is back kicking ball in Mayo. Not possible before.

Is he only 36? I would of thought older.

I dunno if he’d be a starting option tbh or even really what the younger lads need around a panel either

Himself and Callanan were the main men for Drom in the 2004 Co. Minor Final.

Spot the typo.

To whom it may concern

Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA Club and In particular the management team of our Under 15 hurlers would like to express its extreme disappointment and frustration at the events which led to tonights farce of an Under 15 A hurling championship game in Thurles between ourselves and Durlas Og, the game finished 12:45 to 0:2 to Durlas Og.

Despite several appeals when the Gradings were announced at the start of the year these fell on deaf ears and all common sense, logic and previous years form lines were ignored for the benefit of making up a 4 team A grade as opposed to an unbalanced 3 team group

In an organisation that’s supposed to promote player development and participation tonight’s events have had the exact opposite effect.

The disheartening nature of this result will only be made worse when they will inevitably be jeered and mocked by their piers in the various secondary schools they attended, this will not exactly have them running back to the field to participate.

If Tipperary County Board are serious about developing players and clubs it’s high time that grading is done across the County regardless of divisions. We are in no doubt that their are numerous teams across Tipperary as a whole of a similar standard to ourselves that could compete in a “county championship “ which would provide meaningful games for all teams as opposed to tonight’s farce which served either side no good.

We would implore you to take a look at the silly ruling that forced this grading and adjust it accordingly to stop this happening to any other club in the county going forward for the betterment of Tipperary GAA as a whole

Regards
Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA Club

The Glengoole team would have had more joy fishing off the pier with their peers.

Only 1 typo? I counted numerous.

I spotted at least 4.

I spotted 5.

The problem here is that they won the County u15 B last year so were put up to A. Most of that same team are now overage.

Gortnahoe would have no complaints with playing u17 A next year. This is not the first time this has happened.

The divisions work quiet well at B grades but there is definitely a case for a Premier all county .
