I was there and can confirm same.
Greatest celebration of all time with the late Jap Ryan in the middle of it
Rhys is fast becoming one of the biggest rockstars in the GAA.
These things even themselves out over time
Moycarkey looked fairly pedestrian there in the last 10 minutes when the pressure was on. Countless mistakes made. Youâd wonder if the money Nedzer is taking from them could be put to better use
JKB are a very well drilled side. Theyâve gained a couple of forwards especially Jamie Ormonde whoâs class.
Cadell MOTM.
Has the world of hurling in him but seems a bit flat footed or something?
Hell of a game in Boherlahan today.
Everything youâd want in a Divisional Final. A huge crowd, keenly contested game with plenty of niggle and fairly refereed.
Moycarkey had the better of the first half but some wayward shooting meant they could never build a lead. Their forwards threatened to cut loose at various stages but Brackens kept them at bay for the most part. Brackens got fortunate themselves to go three ahead when Rhys Shelly had his Patrick Collins moment when trying to bring a ball down from over the crossbar that was never on, only for it to fall loose to Andrew Ormond to finish to the net. Still Moycarkey got back level 1-09 apiece by half time and looked in a strong enough position to drive on in the second half scoring into the dressing room end.
Moycarkey couldnât have hoped for a better start to the second half either when they goaled from a tight angle in the opening minutes. When they lead 2-13 to 1-13 on 40 minutes, they probably only needed one or two more points and theyâd have surfed home. But suddenly they found themselves slipping again.
Brackens main men like Cadell x2, Doyle, Ormond x2 and Ned Delaney really stood up and they clawed back level before getting ahead. They could have gone even further ahead only for a terrific goal line save from Killian Cantwell.
Nedzer Brennan did all he could to add fresh legs to a tiring Moycarkey. Three games in a week was always going to be punishing. Max Hackett came on and 2024 All Ireland Minor winner Cantwell had an outstanding cameo when introduced but the tide had gone out elsewhere.
The endgame was like a glorious barfight that Iâd love to rewatch but have been told that the Clubber Commentary ruins it. First, Kiwi Morris levelled from a free as the game entered injury time. Shane Doyle won the puckout and laid off to substitute Lyndon Fairbrother to edge Brackens back in front. Killian Cantwell came up from corner back to tie it up again before Ned Delaney nailed the winner. Jamie Ormond should have sealed it to put them two clear but missed leaving Moycarkey with one last chance in âan dĂŠ deiridhâ but the shot was blocked and cleared to great scenes of jubilation.
One thing Moycarkey will regret is not getting a handle on the Brackens puckout. Brackens are renowned for getting them away quick and building from the back, but Moycarkey probably didnât do enough to disrupt. Shane Keegan who once managed against Mikel Arteta in the Europa League edged the tactical battle with Nedzer Brennan over the hour.
In a world where some counties see Club Games as a box ticking exercise on Thursday nights, it was great to see a Divisional Final played at 3.30pm on a Sunday with the razzmatazz of the Sean Treacy Pipe Band keeping the huge crowd entertained pre game and at Half Time.
That was a sensational block. Pity clubber donât show replays.
Unreal. I think he could be very good.
Only a sub for the minors in 2024 but good for Thurles CBS in Harty/All Ireland.
Great to see recent All Ireland winners Robert Doyle and Oisin OâDonoghue bringing their hurleys to todayâs game for the all important Half Time puckaround. Just doing what theyâve always done i suppose and an All Ireland medal isnât going to change it.
Full-time in the Ragg Nenagh Eire Og 1-26 Thurles Sarsfields 3-15.
Sarsfields 3rd goal in garbage time.
Thurles forwards were absolutely awful
Paddy Creedon was doing wreck in the first 10 minutes. Fell away after that.
They were four up at HT. Good turnaround for Naynagh, who could do a bit of damage yet this year @mick_jones
Had a strong wind.
SOâF with 0-05 from play for Nenagh
Heâs very unfit by the look of it.
Mikey Heffernan gave an exhibition, must be 36 this year. Some yoke.
SOF had a bit of skill there at the end as good as anything youâll see, touched it behind his back over his manâs head and got it again.
Some cracking points as well.
Heffernan was excellent. Jake got some nice scores as well.
Sam has the material to be one of the greats, depends on career I suppose, but he does love his hurling. Mikey Heffernan has been Nenaghâs best player for 20 years now, ridiculously skillful. Weâve full back issues, 2 in a row now when Adam Carey was done by a big powerful FF. Still, weâve loads of hurlers
