Tipperary Matters

Countries gone to shit. Terrible news for everyone involved. 2 restaurants is a massive loss to a town like Tipp

We are just a ridiculously expensive county to eat and drink in nowadays. Itā€™s like mini America. A good portion of people can afford it but itā€™s so tough on those who canā€™t. Dunno how you fix it.

When a place thatā€™s doing bad closes down, it canā€™t have any complaints but when a place thatā€™s busy is closing down its a big problem.

Seems to be a total air of depression around this January compared to others. Half the population between 24-30 must be in Australia or about to go there.

In the case of Flanagans, they were very reasonably priced for excellent food yet they still couldnā€™t cope with the costs to make a worthwhile profit.

Saw some article at the weekend which had an interview with a cafe owner. He said sales grew 15%, giving them a record year, and they lost 50k. Thatā€™s mental.

Electric costs could easily have gone up 4-5k per month for such an operation

People ( lots of them ) who purchased vouchers are very upset too.

Great news.

Fantastic news. Hopefully it can help rejuvenate the area and maybe surpass Dundalk as the all weather option. New N24 should boost ascessibility even further.

Now is the time to invest in property in Tipperary Town.

I donā€™t see any need for a second all weather track in England.

Can see this badly impacting field sizes.

Were trainers not giving out recently that their horses were being balloted out of Dundalk a lot? Expect Coolmore to throw a bit of support behind this

People will always complain but a few extra fixtures would ease that. Iā€™d rather a ballot than 3 and 4 runner fields and ruin a great product.

Why wouldnā€™t they and it on their doorstep

Its a pity we never got Two Mile Vegas that time but this will have to do.

This would have been some laugh

Iā€™d be very close to someone who was going to be bounsing it and he showed me a big A2 size folder with the entire plans.

It was an absolutely astonishing stuff.

It was some visionary stuff from Mr Quirke and Mr Lowry.

There going to be helicopter landing strips and all sorts.
