I heard the name on the news tonight and I thought there’s no way in hell it’s the same lad who would have been at home in the heyday of ‘manly’ hurling and football in the 70s and 80s but apparently it is:rofl: Poacher and gamekeeper spring to mind!! Refresh my memory, is he anything to David and Andrew?
2004 anyway. Must be a GAA first, former teammates on the opposite side of the courtroom.
Would have the distinction of representing Tipperary at every level in both hurling and football. Would anyone else have done the same? Steven O’Brien?
Think Quirke switched to a Dublin solicitor fairly quickly. That happens a lot, particularly when they don’t get bail and are on remand in Cloverhill or Dublin prison.
The same in every courthouse. He’s Tipperary’s answer to the American public defender. He’ll be lumbered with the delinquents until some other recently qualified sets up on his own and the mantle will be passed on. At least they’re earning something and being paid by the state pitiful as the rate is. It’s better than drafting wills for oul’ wans who just enjoy the warmth of the solicitors office for the afternoon.
