What does being in court have to do with it? You’re basing who you think is the best footballer of all time or one of the best on what other people have said.
Insulting the poster is the lowest form of admitting defeat

That’s Brian Lacey you’re thinking of I think,
You should stop it then, or resign from TFK.
And Galway won 2 All Irelands in your lifetime as well unless you remember the mid 60s.
And got to a replay in between, playing the purest football of the era
If tfk has taught me anything, and it has, it’s that lists are very important. Especially makey uppy ones.
Very irresponsible internetting here from @Tank. Posting up a top 3 thread without a closed loop on selection criteria. It was always going to be carnage
Unplayable in 2010. Never reached those heights again though.
Tremendous football in 1983 as well.
Galvin had a bit of cut about him alright but nowhere near to this thread. He wasn’t even the best galvin!!
Putting together any sort of a list that requires comparisons across eras is idiotic. Would Joe Canning even be able to solo the ball with a stick the same size and a sliothar like a sod of turf as in Mick Mackey’s era.
Would Mick Mackey be a useless bastard in the modern era where an ability to solo the ball is something you’d expect of an u14.
You can’t even compare lads from the 90s to the current crop. Lads in the nineties could barely puck the ball. But again heavier sliothars, smaller hurleys, very low levels of fitness and the ever present threat of getting your hand smashed or your head split open
How would Spillane have coped with a blanket defence. Would Maurice Fitz have been able to cover the ground required in the modern game. Paudi O’Se thought he was already unsuited to the different game in the later stages of Fitz’s career nevermind now.
An incredible score. A point that’s worth more than the bare score in terms of momentum.
Up there with Ricey’s score against Armagh in 2005 for me.
Dooher was undoubtedly a great.
Talking about hurlers in a football thread is idiotic.
As is Mccaffery
He was a clutch player. In the vital moments of games he would be namechecked on every occasion. A man you’d want to go to battle with.
PTG and Frank McGuigan will occupy the top 2 in most people’s eyes. Dooher was the best wing forward of his era though.
Not very well. He’s pissing moaning about them for years
Owen O’Neill
Nicky English
Aaron Gillane
Gillane obviously last in that list.
