Nibali going to win handy
Ridiculous from Nibali. He’s caught Nieve and passed him with 8k to go. He’s going up the mountain quicker than most would go down it
Like i said, taking the piss. Valverde might lose 2nd here
Did nieve hang on to place?
M
nowhere I’m afraid.
Nibali is like those petrol stations that were selling the dodgy diesel. The stupid ones got caught because they took the piss and sold the diesel for 20c cheaper than anywhere else.
That was a big part of Lance’s problem as well. Wasn’t enough to win, had to drive people into the ground.
Lance was merely the victim of a witch hunt by Travis Tygart and Dick Pound according to Pat McQuaid on the Pat Kenny show yesterday.
Nibali has won a handy tour really, clean or not. No Froome, Quintana, Contador and Schleck finished. Almost no TT kms this year.
Needless to say Pat gave Pat an armchair ride. Pat is after all the broadcaster who employed Dr Bill Tormey to ambush David Walsh on the Late Late. Pat M was allowed to get away with such bollix as this year was the cleanest peloton ever and that was down to him, and that the Lance Armstrong gift to the UCI was never proven (as opposed to never happened). And best of all that Pat M will be there ready to serve the UCI when they come looking for him again.
I once had a drunken but eloquent and civil argument via text message with Tormey after seeing that Late Late segment on Youtube a couple of years ago.
That acceleration from Nibali to take him past Nieve was incredible.
I see a lot of people saying that the absence of Froome and Contador has exaggerated Nibali’s apparent superiority. Strange to see people so willing to suspend their disbelief given all that’s happened. Is there any case at all to be made for him being clean?

No. He is Italian[/QUOTE]
It’s a shame to say yet again but after watching the Tour over the last week or so you’d have to say that Niabli is on something, he has to be. Hasn’t suffered once ffs, and then zoomed up the final climb yesterday.
Shower of cunts ruining it for the rest of us.
If pat wasn’t shafted by the UCI he could have made a run for the IOC presidency. Then with Delaney running FIFA, Ireland would rule world sport.
If his Astana jersey wasn’t enough to put anyone off, the sight of Alexander Vinokourov in the team car would surely be the final nail in the coffin.
It would have been fascinating to see what would have happened if Froome and Contador had not been injured and had been fully “prepared”. Whatever the Astana cooks are brewing is some serious stuff and they would have had their work cut out competing with the Sicilian.
Nibali has dominated all aspects of the tour, from the cobbles of the north to the high peaks of the Alps and Pyrenees.
I’d have as much confidence in nibali as I would in Roche (which is pretty unsure really). Times have been real slow. He was over three mins slower than Riis’ time in 96/97 yesterday for instance and same on other stages. His power numbers have been decent but in line with rest of his career and he is 2kg lighter now too. GC contenders have been non existent. Pinot and peraud didn’t even top ten last year. Would like to have seen TVG avoid that bad day as he’s someone you could guarantee is clean.
What about Martin Ray?
Clean for sure
Don’t think you can say that about anyone, in fairness.
